I would love tot my audio working but am not having any luck. It should ve fairly simple. I have in the past plugged in a 3.5mm headphone jack into my Toshiba Qosmio X875-Q7290 laptop which has two RCA jacks on the other end. I plug those into my Harman/Kardon HK 3480 Stereo Receiver input on Vid 1. Then out tp my speakers. The amp has two plug short connectors that came with it. I was told by Harman/Kardon HK 3480 Stereo Receiver tech support to leave them as they came as shown in this picture. I don't understand why or what the difference is between fhe pre amp and main inputs that are shorted. I want to get them to play music as well as the Panasonic TC-P60VT60 audio. I have a Netgear Nighthawk R7000 Wireless-AC1900 Smart Dual-Band Gigabit Router that has a DLNA server that connects to my laptop and T.V. I have hooked up my DVD /VCR and wttks fine. I would likr to listen to the T.V. thru the speakers without spending anymore money. I have boxes of cables and connectors but no optic cablels.
They are correct... leave the jumpers in place.
Attach your red/white cables from the external devices to an audio INPUT of the HK. Select the proper input via the front panel or remote of the HK. You will then get sound.
