Sounds dangerous. What's the maximum it could go to?

How loud would that actually be?
Riccardo: It's louder than a firecracker exploding right in your ear. If you were up close to a jet taking off, that would be wouldn't be nearly as loud as we are. We are four times louder than that.

Launch of Saturn V Rocket right at the Pad was around 220 dB, the Shuttle about 215 dB. The water suppresson you could see running under the vehicle prior to engine ignition and lift off was to suppress sound reflections from destroying the vehicle. Now that's loud...
