What is a PCA-2? Not familiar with PCA. Also, what did you not like about the Proceed?

I left out the PS Audio part. It is not that I did not like the Proceed it is just that for my application the PCA-2 is a better fit. The PCA-2 is a much newer design and enables more setup options over the Proceed.

As far as SQ I did not compare the two side by side but going on memory they are very similar. I would say the PCA-2 seems a touch brighter than the Proceed but bass seems fuller with the PCA-2. I am far from an audiophile but find the SQ of both the Proceed and the PCA-2 to be a step up in SQ over my AVM 30 for 2 channel listening.

Once I sell my AVM 30 and get a Denon 3808 (my choice at the moment) I will have great SQ for HT (BD30 and A2) and also have very good SQ for 2 channel as well. I suggest anyone that is looking for a receiver/pre-pro for HT but are not satisfied with what they have heard when it comes to 2 channel performance to look at a good pre-amp with HT bypass.

My SACD collection, watch it grow and my wallet shrink ;-).

Denon 4311 (in preamp mode), Parasound 2100, Boston Acoustics A7200 amp, Oppo BDP-103, Consonance CD120, Panasonic TC-P60GT50 plasma, Panamax 5100EX, Salk Song Towers, Song Center, ADS 300C (surrounds) and two Rythmik F12SEs.

Levinson has a few preamps with pass thru -- the 320s I know for sure...

Hello all,

thought I would post on my progress. I ended up getting a used Anthem Pre 2l Special edition(tube pre) off of audiogon. I'm very impressed with the sound quality of this unit. The remote is great to0, I can switch the bypass on and off via the remote.

I'm using an Anthem CD1 as my source, with b&w 704s3's hooked up to rotel amps.

Saw your thread, have had my Proceed PRE for over four years now along with my Proceed HPA2 and love them both, not to mention the HT passthrough. Maybe someone can help. In the process of programming a MX-3000 and am in need of discreet codes for the Proceed PRE? Checked on Remote Central and all that's on there are ccf's for AVP, no PRE. Any ideas?
