I auditioned a pair of Jubilees yesterday and they sounded awesome on Crown SS amps. Now could they have sounded better? Maybe, I don't have that much experience with that level of speakers. They were incredible.

It's possible the problem was not SS in general but that particular amp. And also that it's those particular Macs that are good with the speakers and not tubes in general.

Anyway I've been using horn speakers for over 35 years----Altec, Klipsch, EV, JBL, Edgar, PAudio, McCauley, you name it, both turnkey and DIY systems. And I've heard them sound good AND bad with both SS and tubes. Last Cornwalls I had I powered with both SS or tubes at various times.

so after much research and reading the endless posts on here, I think I'm gonna go with the Jolida 302BRC. It uses the EL34 tube, has a remote, and a sub out so I can use my HSU vtf woofer.

Video: Samsung PN648500AF, Panasonic TC-P60GT50
Audio: Onkyo TX-NR818 with B&K Reference 200.7, Behringer iNuke 3000DSP for subs
Speakers: Klipsch RF-7 II's, RC-64, RS-62's RSW-15, Dual DIY Stereo Integrity 18" Subwoofers
Misc: Xbox 360, PS3 Slim, Wii U, Apple TV, Chromecast

I own one myself, it should prove to be a nice match with the Cornwalls I trust, enjoy !
