I've a 10' wide 2.35 screen but fancy a change, I was thinking of building some kind of 2:1 type of screen as I'd like to have a larger 4:3 image (no I don't want to sit closer ) It would still be 10' wide but would now be considerably taller.
So I was wondering if I do build this new screen I'd have to implement a 4 way masking system which is not much of a problem, the question is - do I still build a curved screen in order to reduce the effects of pin cushion and if so, do the normal rules of curvature apply. Last time out I recall using Aussie Bobs very help calculator which did all of the math for me.
I definitely want to keep the lens as it allows me to have a really wide scope image outside of the normal throw capabilities of my projector.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
A child of five would understand this. Send someone to fetch a child of five.
As I'm going AT screen in 2014/15-ish, along with PJ upgrade then, I'd do this also.
Bigger is better, 130" curved 2.35 I have now, so this would gain me for the sporting events watching stuff.
