Thanks Mark, but I don't think I got an answer to my question. Is a "multi-element" design optically superior to the Aussiemorphic? Will the picture quality be different?

Yes a multi element adaptor (like the coming soon MK III) differs because it has corrective elements as well as those used for the optical expansion.

Both Panamorph and Prismasonic have 5 glass elements, so will perform better then a lens with only 2 elements...

i got my Aussiemorphic lens the other day, and i was able to get it setup, installed and tested today, and am very happy with it, i might play around with it a little bit more later, but for now ive got the main thing sorted.

I only quickly took a few pictures tonight, but i still have a little few things to clean up and repaint the middle beam where the lens+projector mounts, will do that soon.

Here are some movie shots:

The lens+projector setup:

And the 2.37 screen im using:

Well well well

nice to know that the AussieMorphic lens works well with recessed lens projectors. Infocus's IN82 lens is not recessed that much!!

Do NOT let the magic smoke out because it is impossible to put the magic smoke back in!!!!

I intentionally made it oversize so that it work with pretty much everything out there...

So you are working on a multi element lens? You say adaptor, will that be an add on to the MKII or a whole new lens? What is the estimated time of arrival for this new MKIII?

I say adaptor, because prisms based units like the Aussiemorphic are not really a lens, but an anamorphic adaptor. I won't disclose anything at this stage except to say that there will be two corrective elements one for focus and the other for CA and I am hoping not to have to change the case, so an easy upgrade path...

CAVX,

Thanks, I will be watching and hoping you can bring a high quality HE adapter to the market for significantly less than the competition.

CAVX,

Will this lens (and even the upcoming MKIII) work with the Panny PT-AE1000U? I am very interested in this.

Thanks,
Bob

I have not yet had the chance to test with that projector so based on throw ratios, I can not see why it would not work.

Some people have claimed that the Panasonic Smooth Screen technology tends to make the image look soft through an anamorphic lens (other brands, not just the Aussiemorphic Lens).

There have been threads since that counter the claim, so I suspect that the end result is end user specific...

I've had my Aussie / Optoma HD79 setup and running for about two months and they make quite a match for each other. With the combination AT screen and DIY monitors from HT Guide forum it can't be beat. I thought that mounting the monitors on a shelf would degrade the sound.Wrong. I've had at least three GTG with friends and they can't believe the picture and sound.

Can't wait to get my yankee hands on that upgrade .

Mark,
I'll have a couple of bills to take care of after Christmas so take your time.

Hi mate,
Yes, pretty normal... how bad it is will depend on your wall to the left(how close/what colour etc).

The way i eliminated it was by using a bit of curtain on the side.

hope this gives you an idea for what you can do/make/invent.
