I have a Australian model LG DF8900P which i got in about 2005 and it has not given me any problems and still works fine the last time i tried it a few weeks ago.

I figured i should get a couple DVD players while i can as the prices seem reallly cheap these days.

I want to get mayba a Panasonic DVD-S68 unless they bring out a better one this year (unlikely) and i think i want to get another bit better one, probably a Pioneer. Although i had a good run with my LG i want to try another brand. I dont want a Sony and Samsung and Toshiba dont interest me too much.

I also need it to be region free and 220v capable so i am looking at what world import, Bombay electronics, BH etc have as they have a lot of region free 220v DVD players and its slim pickings here in Australia from what i can see.

A fairly important thing for it to have is s-video out and acording to the specs of some Pioneers they still have that. I wish i could find out if they output anything over 480/576 over component though?

The models i am looking at are

Pioneer DV-610AV-K - i think i will go with this one. Anyone know if any of the US import shops are selling the euro 610 model with the SCART connector on the back?
Pioneer DV-420V-K

I assume the the 610 is newer/better? Has anyone bought one of these from WI or any of the other grey market import sites and can confirm if they have s-video out?

And i guess any dual voltage player like these are not domestic USA models are they? There is a lot of guys in the recorder section who are knoledgeable on the dual volatage interational models, is there the same people in the players section who knows about them here too?

Any other Pioneer models i may be able to get?

What other good DVD players are there still? I am guessing Marantz, Oppo, Denon, Yamaha, but i am not sure i need to go to that level unless they offer something really special and at that would be the point when i would move to blu ray i guess.
