I recently bought Duncan's LD-S9 player. Compositie picture is excellent through Onkyo 1009 receiver (tweaking DNR). Although this is really a dead medium, there are some movies that may never see blu-ray or proper re-mastering to better media. Anyway I calibrated my Mitshu 82" with Calman 5, and decided that the LD should get the same treatment. Luckily the Onkyo has basic ISS functions, so the composite input with the Video Essentials LD could give me a 9 pt grayscale (no 10%) and CMS. Below are the results. 20% looks bad, and I don't know why, I'm wondering if it is a mistake on the LD? Because the picture is very good, any suggestions or comments let me know.
