Caution: to a lot of people "universal player" means must have DVD-A and SACD.

New, used? Price range? Just DVDs, no Blu-ray?

Sorry I meant just an all region dvd player that plays PAL and NTSC .No DVD A or SACD or Blu-Ray.

All the OPPOs supported PAL and can be made region free with a remote code (the DVD players, not the Blu-ray players). The 983H was one of the best DVD players made, and I also still use a 980H and like it a lot. You have to find them used.

Otherwise, I sometimes buy PAL DVDs from this site: http://www.daaveedee.com/, and he recommends the Phillips DVP3560: http://www.daaveedee.com/reviews.php
