Laserdisc bar on a 1080p TV

I have a 32" Vizio 1080p set. When I watch laserdiscs on it there is a faint white vertical bar on the right side of the picture. What is it?

Since no one else has replied I can tell you that this is how the Visio is handling it's processing for a 4:3 picture. To do 4:3 correctly you need to buy a TV specializing in handling an older NTSC signal. This happens on other TV's also.
