I have the Denon 1600 connected to pt13lc50 but was wondering if the sammy would be a better match for the lcd rptv. I am happy with the pq but am thinking since they both are the same price, the dvi would yield a better pict.

Unfortunately the Samsung has some other issues that would still make the Denon DVD-1600 result in higher overall quality, you would just trade for one advantage but also pickup some disadvantages. You can try one for 30day return from Best Buy and comparison, but keep the Denon around - I'm sure you will prefer it.

Congratulations - excellent deal on the DVD-1600 from a local dealer! I don't think you will find a better picture quality from another model player right now.
