anybody know how the PQ from basic upconverting dvd players (i have a panny s77) compares to the output from a PC? i just got a new vista pc and was wondering if i should even bother trying to connect it to my hdtv (it would take a little effort and parts).

I think try it and see. Depending on you video card, the results from the PC can be stunning.

while "try it and see" is always the best option i agree, i would have to do some furniture rearranging, software downloading, and some tweaking among other things, as well as purchase some new cables or media extender to just check it out properly. i'm not opposed to doing that and actually think it would be fun but wanted to hear some thoughts before i did try (and possibly find out after all of the work that the pc option isn't better ) anyone here already use both? prefer one over the other?
