Help! I bought a Samsung DVD/VHS player about two months ago:

And now I have a problem, it won't play DVDs! Here is what happens, when I stick a DVD in, the TV will show the Samsung Loading screen and then all of a sudden it goes blue. Meanwhile, the DVD player face just shows 0:00. It is not the disc, because I've tried multiple discs. It is not the connection, or else it would not show the Samsung Loading screen or even the blue screen. It is not set on VCR, so that's not the problem either.

The only thing that I can think of that might have caused this is that I recently unplugged the DVD player and accidentally touched the metal part of the plug while it was partially in the socket and that gave my finger a minor electric shock. But I don't think that could be it?

Also, I bought this in cash, did not keep the receipt or box as I threw them away after successfully watching a couple of movies.

Am I screwed?

Did you try a master reset?

I don't know your model number but if you google it it will show how to do it. I would try it and just see what happens before you prop your door open with it.
