I have no problem on my BD player with Amazon, VUDU or Hulu+ because it is connected via Ethernet but it will only play Netflix at 720p max so I use Chromecast for that. Problem with Chromecast is some of the apps started out working fine but so many broke it in their updates (HBO Go,Hulu+ and VUDU particularly). YouTube and Google Play Movies of course work okay too. I also watch VUDU on the BD player in HDX because they broke their Android app.

I never use YouTube for the Chromecast. The thing crashes more times than a crash test dummy.

Also when I checked the broadband for your city it said Comcast sorry did not know that uverse was available in your area.

Yeah surely if Google does not want something optimized it must be YouTube on Chromecast.

I live by myself and the only time my wifi gets used is when I am on my pc, smartphone, or streaming. So bandwidth is not an issue in my case.

Are you attempting all this streaming using WiFi only, or have you also used hard wire and you still have all these problems?

A Google image search suggests that it's the display of an eye on video screen from a scene in Blade Runner of an android-detecting "Voight-Kampff" test, like this:

Sorry to dash your hopes . I just moused over it in Chrome, right-clicked and selected "Search Google for this image", a fun feature to play with.

Right film, wrong scene. I haven't seen the film in awhile but I remember it being from where Deckard is in a spinner heading to the Tyrell Corp and ends up running the test on Rachel. The reflection is the city of LA, in 2019.

Right film, right scene, different couple of seconds. It's from the opening of the film, a long panning shot of LA (supposedly in 2019 ), with multiple spouts of flame erupting from various chimneys, with cutaways to the scene reflected in an eye filling the screen. Whose eye is never indicated; apparently the storyboards identified it as being Holden's eye, the "blade runner" who's killed in the first scene while administering a VK test to Leon. It's not the same color as the eyes of the actor who plays Holden because it's actually the eye of one of the production people. Ridley Scott is said to have considered it to be the eye of "Big Brother", after the fact.

I just found that it's available on Amazon as Prime and played it to check that, and ended up watching the whole thing. Unfortunately it was the 1982 theatrical cut with the BS Deckard voice-over, but no big. I have the 5-disc Collector's Edition on BD but I'm far too lazy to get up and get it.

Hahaha! Thanks, I didn't want to bother with checking it out so it was an fairly educated guess on my part, close but no cigar!

(I also have the 5 disc BD set, in fact I have one that is still factory sealed(the one in the briefcase with all the goodies), if anyone is interested check around for prices and then PM me. Apologies if this is out of line.)

This whole thing is wrong on so many levels. The Terrible Three is an apt name.

But no one seems to care anymore as long as they can mainline their Netflix fix.

while i don't disagree with you, the sad part is there's not a lot anyone can do (except the feds) and the big three know it - they have no concern re the negative good will it created with their customers due to their monopoly strength

Still can't believe now TWC is the only provider that still does not have a deal with Netflix. I get tired when after 9 PM I sometimes get SD dropouts which are completely unnecessary.

The history of this extortion is a prime example of .. errr .. extortion

ISP blames NF for streaming issues, yet intentionally opens no new ports, allowing congestion

Netflix has Open Connect and tries to defend themselves but still gets primary blame

NF must pay extortion .. rates go up

And Astound has set up business too just not on my block. Also for those close to the CO there are other providers like Sonic.net, Earthlink that ride on the AT&T copper. U-Verse is fiber.

Now, I assume you've tried resetting your ATT connection with the gateway? I was having a terrible time last night even with Netflix so logged onto the gateway and reset the ATT connection and problems faded away. Apparently somehow the connection I had was getting starved by too many folks along the line. My top speed before doing that was only 7 mbps but it is a 12 mbps which is usually 10-11 mbps.

I get the complaints about open connect and the "fee's", but, I pay Nflix and ATT good money to work it out. Netflix also went up on their fee's as well. I'm not worried about their issues with each other, I expect them to handle it.

In this 'Netflix Streaming Quality' thread (which seems appropriately titled) the funny thing is there is little recent complaining about Netflix quality apart from a few (quite vocal ) posters.

It's the same if you frequent other forums - so it seems the issues got worked out between Netflix and most ISPs (and Open Connect wasn't necessarily the answer). The world didn't end - my Netflix monthly fee is the same and Netflix continues to offer great value and add titles.

The exception seems to be that there are still issues for many Verizon customers - which seems strange given that Verizon and Netflix supposedly have an agreement and some issues for AT&T Uverse customers (which may be broader than just Netflix).

Edit - gadgtfreek sorry I didn't read your recent posts - hopefully the AT&T/Netflix agreement you quote will fix your issues as well. Since the Comcast / Netflix agreement I have had zero issues.
