That definitely is a ways out yet. I only have 12 Mbps from U-Verse and they would love to trap me into a 2 year contract for a higher speed. Locally Wave (formerly Astound) is building out and is offering 250 Mbps for $50 a month for two years (and no contract). That's why a U-Verse rep rang my doorbell in spite of the "No Solicitors" sign to try to get me under contract. Not to mention the spam and paper spam I get from AT&T.

It happened last year in January: they raised the minimum download speed necessary to call your service "broadband" from 4 Mbps to 25 and upload from 1 Mbps to 3. It instantly tripled the number of US Internet subscribers without broadband service .

It had banding in some scenes for some reason that my other six 4K devices didn't have with Netflix.
Im trying out the Shield right now and kinda like it. Its more pricey of course than a Roku 4. I like that it can do 24hz, but it doesnt not have the debug menu either for some odd reason. Seems most android devices dont where blu-ray players and the Rokus do.

Its funny, I see anywhere between 60 and 90 down, and uploads range from 15-30. Can't complain, best internet Ive ever had.

When I use the Fast.com Netflix service it usually reports 50-60mbps, but I hit 95 on it this morning (prob due to less congestion on the net).

My TWC 15/1 service I guess would qualify it as "narrow-band". I am waiting to see when the Charter/TWC merger will boost my standard 15 Mbps to the standard Charter 60 Mbps without an additional cost which would be nice. Although without any 4K devices in my home my current speed has proven adequate for my streaming needs. For many customers, including myself, this means a new DOCSIS 3.0/3.1 modem supplied by Charter so there's that logistic to contend with. And also replacing my trusty Buffalo WHR-G54S router I owned since 2004.
