Wow..this will totally propel them.. they seem to be using contacts to studios to offer this.. I think it's pretty unfair to Vudu but I guess that's business.

So it says pre-order. When will it be available? Will these movies be available while still in the theaters. I can pre-order blu-ray discs also - not that big a deal. Now, if i can get these movies at home at the same time that they are available in theaters - that is a different story.

Twilight, Quantum of Solace and The Spirit are pre-order. The rest appear to be available to buy and download today.

This is not news - yes so you can get 720p on itunes while both Vudu and BluRay offer 1080p. The movies they have listed are available on BluRay and Vudu. I was thinking that these were new movies currently in release in theaters. Now that would be news.

Interesting. For Twilight you can purchase 720p from Apple now for $19.99. 1080p (non HDX) now from Vudu for $24.99 or 1080p Blu-ray from Amazon pre-order (May 5 release) for $23.99. And the DVD two-disc special edition from Amazon is available now for $17.99.

Anyone know if these HD offerings can then be transcoded for PMPs such as Archos, PSPs, etc? Or are they protected - view only vids? They can probably be d/l to iPods, iTouchs easily...

MY DILEMMA: New car or PJ? New car or PJ? New car or PJ?

My guess is the studios want their profit. So much for the lower cost structure for streams being passed on to the consumer.
