My wife and I just finished the second season. Huge disappointment as we really liked the first season. I would have quit if she hadn't insisted that we continue. The last episode was the only one I found remotely entertaining, so I will probably be dragged only mildly kicking and screaming into the third season by my wife.

I just watched the first episode of Season 2 and was similarly disappointed, probably won't dive deeper based on your observations.

You can always move on to Marco Polo. The second season stars next Friday.

Actually, I was referring to Netflix 'original' content.

I thought the second season was great. Not as good as the first season but definitely compelling and has me looking forward to season 3. Different strokes!

Watched "Spotlight" last night. Excellent film!

Kind of annoyed with Netflix's efforts to "herd" viewers though.

I'm curious what you mean by herd?

How the interface works sometimes. In this case when I wanted to grab the URL and selected it on "Trending" it showed then moved to the next show. Now it may have been a browser thing as that didn't happen today but then there are other issues folks have complained about such as credits roll reducing the screen to the upper corner. There should be an option to turn that off but I don't find any. Somebody at Netflix probably figured that is the way that people "want it" but that's not always true.

Couldn't agree more, Spotlight is a great film! It blew me away when I saw it in the theater and I was just as impressed yesterday when I watched it again on Netflix. It tells a heartbreaking story that is also a chilling one. Fun fact: Tom McCarthy, who directed and co-wrote the film, is a good Irish Catholic boy and a Boston College grad.

Marcella looks to be really good; I've watched the first two episodes. If you liked "River," you'll probably like this one (and it has more action).

Also, Netflix just added about 5 Albert Brooks movies, with the best being Real Life and Lost in America.

I thought I read that Clear and Present Danger and Patriot Games had been added to Netflix. I couldn't find them though. What happened, did I read it wrong?

Both have been available on Netflix at times; Clear and Present Danger left the US catalog at the beginniing of June. The only Jack Ryan film available on US Netflix right now is The Sum of All Fears.

Both are currently available from Amazon Prime Instant Video and Hulu. Maybe it was one of those you read about. (The Hunt for Red October is also available from both services).

I think you are right. I probably read the Amazon announcement.

It was an update related thing. Something about the PS3 not getting an update and it being signed in too long. I don't know. Anyway i had to reset the app.

Occasionally on the Shield TV I get an error message when starting Netflix which says try starting the app again then it works. What's really weird? Last night I was watching some stuff on Hulu and during the show it popped up an alert saying that Netflix had stopped unexpectedly. However I had not even run Netflix last night. I suspect they have a service running (bad idea) on demand from their marketing department. These services tend to erode performance on Android devices and often aren't really necessary.

I actually saw this through IFC OnDemand (via Comcast), but it's available on Netflix.

Burke and Hare

It's about grave robbing and killing people to supply medical schools with cadavers in 1800's Scotland. It's based on a true story, and is a comedy. No joke. It stars Simon Pegg and several other British comedians and actors.

Fixed the link in this quote. It's missing an "h" at the beginning.

Will give it a try although the critics by and large panned it.

This guy didn't.
