Contracts don't last forever. Also see my additional comments above.

Just a follow up on my Netflix problems on my ks 8000. So yesterday I buy my aunt a new tv. Bjs had the 55 inch 6290d on sale. Take it home, calibrate, wala, beautiful pq. So I say let me see how her Netflix is working. Wouldn't you know Netflix speed test coming up EXACTLY like mine, hovering between 22 and 26! So now completely different tv,different wi-fi,different cable company and everything the same. Even House of Cards showed it was playing in 1080p just like my tv. Proof is in the pudding. This slow down is something Netflix is doing on our samsung tvs. Ridiculous they won't own up to it and fix it. Curious to know from other ks8000 owners out there about their net speed and lack of 4k for House of Cards. Thanx.

Are you sure it's not an issue with Samsung's KS 8000 processor and a problem it may be having with the Netflix interface? Also, not all processors are created equal. Although my two Roku 3500's download speeds are more then enough to provide 1080p streams, they usually produce half the speed of my newer 4 core Roku 3600 player, when using Roku's speed test channel.

Same exact results on the latest Roku which I returned this evening and my aunts new model 6290, along with my 65 inch 6300 model. Can't be a coincidence. Just started a few days ago. Well see what happens when Apple TV 4 comes out this fall. It's a Netflix -Samsung problem. Pissing me off.

Are you having this issue with the Roku? If so, I would check with your ISP. My point before was, it's probably a problem with your TV. It's not like Samsung hasn't had streaming issues with their apps before.

Thanx Ian. Time warner has been here 4 times. All signal strength exceptional. All other devices in home fine. Having the same EXACT problem and readings on three different tvs and two different service providers means it's a NETFLIX problem with our Samsung tvs. Does House of Cards play in 4k on yours or 1080?

was hoping to start on this... hopefully they have not desecrated it.
Looking forward to seeing Mr. Weatherbee on it

Well, that's really going to depend on your definition of desecration .. it's not the Archie Gang I read in the 1950's, by any stretch of the imagination ..

Sorry, but I don't have use for a 4k TV at this time. I'm very happy with the PQ on my Panasonic plasma. Next set will be an OLED, but they are rather pricey right now. I would contact Samsung and see if there is, or will be, a software update to resolve the problem you are having. Like I posted before, these type issues are not uncommon with Samsung TV's.

Man, I really like this series. Currently on Seaons 5 Netflix. So NF won't have seaons 6 or 7? That sucks! While I really like the show, not sure I'll pay Amazon to watch it.

That sucks too! These are really nice films.

Death in Paradise has not been cancelled, series 6 just finished airing in the UK and it's returning for a 7th in 2018.

I enjoyed it(Riverdale), very offbeat and somewhat quirky but can also be rather dark at times.

So far I've watched two episodes of "Atypical" which is a great comedy starring Keir Gilchrist, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Michael Rappaport. But the actress that plays the sister steels the show.

Riverdale looks too Twilightish, sans the vampires. Lol. I can see Jughead sparkling in the sunlight. Of all the CW shows I started, only The Flash remains.

^^ I think of equal, if not greater importance, was the deal done to purchase MillarWorld and bring Mark Millar into the NF fold .. Millar has been incredibly influential over the years ..

Lol. I was expecting a bigger blow than that. Never heard of her. But if Greys Anatomy and Scandal, which neither will ever see any time in the Wabo HT, are her benchmarks than Netflix overpaid.

Been binging on "Death In Paradise", the BBC crime dramedy. A bit on the cheesy, low budget side, but I find it still fun and entertaining for whatever reason. Hope Netflix picks up Season 6 at some point in the near future, and 7 way down the line......

I like that show too. I'm glad they got rid of the actor who played the investigator from Season 1. The new guy is much better.

Woman in Gold - Helen Mirren and Ryan Reynolds.

I finally got around to watching this 2015 film based on a true story. It's been available on Netflix since February 2017.

Quote:
Six decades after the Holocaust, Maria Altmann embarks on a quest to reclaim her family's Nazi-stolen artwork, including a famed Gustav Klimt piece.
Strong acting by the two leads carry the story for the most part. Every film I see Helen Mirren in just seems to confirm my opinion that she is one of the greatest actors of our time. Like Meryl Streep her diversity is amazing.

The story is time compressed, dramatically enhanced and differs in a few things from the actual story. If you're interested in more of a documentary there is the 2007 film Stealing Klimt that inspired this movie. Considering what's going on in today's news I found the film quite timely.

I like them both, but it was a bit surprising how they transitioned between the two! I'm kinda glad it didn't go that way with the 1st DS! (I think I preferred her actually.) I do like the way they have changed up the characters, there are none that I don't like, and it's always somewhat entertaining to see Harry in an episode.....
