Gotcha, so it will show up in my Netflix account and on my TV when I access my Queue? I use my DV player to stream them. Should have said that up front.

Where is this saved section you mention?

Add things to your queue, they show up on the website and on your streaming device.

The saved section should be at the bottom of your watch instant queue (on the website). Just like the DVD queue, but on the Watch Instant Tab. It doesn't show if you don't have anything that's expired though.

At least I assume it still shows if you have anything that's expired. I currently don't have anything so I'm not sure if it still does or not...I know it used to but I'm in the habit of making sure I watch anything that's expired so nothing has for me for several months now.

When/if it becomes available it will be auto-added to your queue.

So, it stays in saved, what is saved for? Just a history of what you have done but not actual movie content/files?

I can delete so it does not show up in saved? In other words, delet from my Queue, does it go to saved or does it only go there if it was in my Queue and expired?

Unless you remove it, it stays in saved until the title is available. Then it will move to your queue. This might make clearer how saved works in general:

In 12th-century Asia, an orphaned young slave named Temudjin (Tadanobu Asano) escapes from his captors' clutches and begins a journey that will lead him to become one of the greatest conquerors the world has ever known. Honglei Sun and Ying Bai co-star in this Academy Award-nominated epic from writer-director Sergei Bodrov, the first in a trilogy of adventure films relating the life story of Genghis Khan.

My wife and I watched it on blu-ray and really liked it. It does have sequences that are pretty violent, but the blood and gore factor is not overdone at all. It also has a very humanistic element. It's definitely not what you'd expect, and in a very good way.

I watched Mongol last night. I enjoyed it, but found the many major gaps frustrating. Often it just didn't flow logically, and felt like it really needed to be another hour or so. Also, it's far from historically accurate, though that's not necessarily a bad thing.

From some IMDB reading, it looks like there won't be a trilogy, but a single sequel is scheduled for 2010.

You are making this way too complicated. Here's it in a nutshell.

Netflix has 2 queues. A DVD queue and a Watch Instant Queue. You can add things to either queue (or both).

DVD QUEUE:
  • If a title hasn't been released on DVD/Blu-Ray yet, it gets put into the "Saved" section at the bottom of the page below the rest of your queue. Once it's released, it gets moved to the regular section.
  • If a title becomes available to "Watch Instantly" you'll see a "Play" button beside it in the DVD queue, and it also gets moved/copied to your Instant queue automatically. Why does it copy it? Because you might still want the DVD or Blu-Ray and not just want it moved. This requires a bit of maintenance to either remove it from the DVD queue or remove it from the Instant Queue.

INSTANT QUEUE:
  • This should show up on your device.
  • If a title expires, it should be moved to a saved section at the bottom of your instant queue. Why? Because you might want to move it back over to your DVD queue since it can't be streamed anymore. Or sometimes the licensing will expire for a couple weeks and then be renewed, in which case it will automatically get moved back to your Instant Queue. This was the case recently with Once Upon A Time In America....which expired for about a month, and is now available again.

Hope that helps. It's really not that complicated once you use it.

Man vs Food, seasons 1 and 2 are awesome.. The lead character in the show is freaking hilarious.

Dexter is another great show that you can add, it is funny, creepy and ghoulish.

Dexter is great! They have Season 1 and Season 2 available for streaming--Season 4 concluded a couple of months back.

This is one of my all-time favorite series--highly recommended. (I've also read all of the Jeff Lindsay novels. Season 1 is largely based on the first novel, Darkly Dreaming Dexter--same story, very different endings; the series and the novels completely part ways after that).

Oh yeah...just finished watching s2 via streaming-and it's a phenomenal show.

I'll throw Farscape onto the recommend table. Not only is it a great show, but even on an SD tv, the picture quality is pristine. I'd be curious to know how it looks to those with their players connected to an HDTV.

Love this thread. I've seen a few recommendations such as King of Kong and Spartan.
Anyone have any good thriller/suspense recommendations from say the early 90's? Movies along the lines of Malice or Deceived (G. Hawn) or Shattered (Berenger). The early to mid 90's had a bunch of movies like this and I know I've missed a few. Unfortunately all 3 of these films are not on the watch instantly list.

The Vanishing with Jeff Bridges and Kiefer Sutherland is pretty good. The original Dutch version is also available and worth a watch.

Yup, seen The Vanishing. I liked that one.

Thanks for the list and you are right - Malice is available. Pretty good suspense thriller if anyone hasn't seen it.

Not really a huge Eddie Izzard fan...he does have some funny stuff...Death Star Cafeteria and his rant on the movie "Speed" in french for instance.

Just not sure if i really understand him dressing in women's clothes all the time.

From that instantwatch thriller list, Spanish Prisoner and The Usual Suspects are both expiring soon. (April 1 and Mar 27 respectively).

Very handy, thanks for mentioning it, cubiczee

Oh, and The Insider is available for instant now.... not exactly a thriller, but worth seeing if you haven't already.

Also, if you're a fan of Ricardo Darin, or if you saw and enjoyed Nine Queens (which was really good, but not yet available for streaming) there's another little "thriller" called Aura with the same director .... it's pretty weird, but interesting... Very dark , funny (not sure it's meant to be), the kind of movie Kevin Spacey would be in if it had been made in America instead of Argentina. Heist gone terribly wrong.

Part character study, part crime drama, The Aura follows reclusive and fastidious taxidermist Espinosa as he moves from dreaming about pulling off the perfect crime to actually planning and executing a real heist. Filmmaker Fabian Bielinsky (Nine Queens) lovingly nurtures Espinosa (Ricardo Darin), creating a complex character whose eerie frozen moments of epileptic seizure (hence the film's title) make for hypnotic viewing.

As I stated before, I wasn't a big fan of the American remake of The Vanishing. I heartily recommend the original, also available as a stream.

Something I've enjoyed is Skins, a BBC drama about a group of kids in senior high school (which they call "sixth form college"), in the city of Bristol. Very raw, no holds barred stuff, well written and acted. Netflix has streams for Skins Volume 1 and Skins Volume 2, consisting of 9 and 10 one-hour episodes each. The series is currently in its fourth season with a second cast (two years per "college" class)--I've been watching it week-to-week on BBC America HD.

just looked at Feedflix - again, very handy. Thanks! I see Angels & Demons is available now -- I enjoyed it a lot more than The da Vinci Code, which I didn't think lived up to the hype. This seemed to have a better cast, a more cohesive story, the Italian setting added some interest, it's kind of a "thriller" lite
