I've been watching (the original) Girl with a Dragon Tattoo. A little disturbing in some parts and I'm not sure how much they kept in the US version :P

I am part way through part 2 and the quality is great, etc. It is just hard for me to watch foreign films...I am constantly reading subtitles at the bottom of the screen instead of really watching the movie.

The US version is a faithful reproduction, just using actors speaking English.

Subtitles don't bother or distract me and I watch titles in English with captions turned on when available.

When I rented these, the only English dubbed version was on BD .. however, it was pretty well done and exactly the same as the original version ..

I watched the American re-make of Part One and felt the original was better ..

I thought Timecrimes was very good (I've watched it a half-dozen times, at least). Another great time travel movie is "11 Minutes Ago."

I just finished watching "The Worst Week of My Life." British sit-com. Very funny. The main character is very Ben Stiller-ish (his well-intentioned actions turn into disasters).

I was casually browsing NF last night just looking for something both HD and 5.1 and stumbled across Arabia:Imax. The subject matter isn't my cup of tea, but for both eye and ear candy, it's just jaw-dropping. The best quaility NF i've ever seen or heard. The surrounds are almost obnoxious in their use, but it's just awesome quality. For NF, anyways.

Is Netflix marking entries 5.1 now or were you browsing using something else?

I started to watch & realized I had already seen it - agree that it was a good film. So instead - I watched "Anthony Zimmer" a French film starring Sophie Marceau - thriller, romance - well done & also in HD & DD5.1+

So do I--I beta tested and sent Ranger One copious comments and suggestions while he developed it and posted an announcement of it. It relieved me of the tedious task of updating my old "Official List of Netflix Watch Instantly Titles w/5.1 Sound" thread, for which I will be eternally grateful .

I just wondered whether ratpacker was using that or something else.

I watched twice, once on my 360 and once on my Toshiba BR. The stuff that's HD and 5.1 don't have their own listing on either device, I just happened across it looking for something that looked and sounded good. But both my devices do show if it's HD and 5.1 in the title and rating line fwiw.

It would be even better if it allowed you to search by genre.

It does let you filter by genre, which I explain in my response to your post in the TVandMoviesNow thread, here.

I was asking vis-a-vis Netflix web site; ratpacker was browsing using his Xbox and BD player's Netflix apps. Several devices can play 5.1 sound and their apps let you see which things are 5.1. But all of them only let you browse a limited subset of titles (they let you search through all of them). TVandMoviesNow.com will let you see all Netflix titles with 5.1 sound (currently 1180, only 2 or 3 aren't also HD).

I am halfway through Midas, a great South Korean drama series about the uber-wealthy, their machinations and motivations, and the people they affect. Warning: subtitled, so will be a bother for those who don't like them. As usual with Korean dramas, the story is told from beginning to end without "seasons" per se.

I noticed that they've recently added Grizzly Man, a documentary about Timothy Treadwell, a amateur naturalist and expert in grizzly bears who spent 13 summers in an Alaskan national park protecting a troop of grizzlies from poaching by living among them, up close and personal. At the end of lucky summer 13, having made an unplanned return to extend his stay after all of the bears he's familiar with have left, he and a girlfriend are attacked and essentially eaten alive by a straggler. This is a sort of documentary biography of his life during these trips, cobbled together by Werner Herzog from hundreds of hours of footage collected by Treadwell, who'd intended to create his own film with it. Treadwell's an interesting (if not particularly endearing) character, not at all what you'd expect.

They also have Grizzly Man Diaries, an 8-part series put together by Animal Channel from his work. I haven't seen that and may watch it since it's been a while since I saw the movie.

Often, there's a film I'm interested in watching. Not enough to buy the disc, or even pay $$ for streaming. Is there a site that will check Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu simultaneously?

The precious minutes it takes me to slog from site-to-site are moments I just can't waste during my busy day...what with all the high-pressure board meetings, power lunches, and I know you'll all be sad to to know that the internet is down on my private jet.

Any help would be appreciated...but quickly people, I don't have all day!

This site will search Amazon and Netflix, but not Hulu. If you click "Mores search Options" you can narrow your search to HD only and other choices.

I always search there first.

Though I prefer TVandMoviesNow.com for its options and filters (also, I principally use Netflix and Amazon), CanIStreamIt.com will search a bunch of streaming services.

Netflix has added some great rockumentaries over the last few weeks. I recently watched Classic Albums: Rush: 2112 & Moving Pictures and Classic Albums: Steely Dan: Aja. Netflix needs to add more concerts and do a better job *promoting* the music related content.

Mozart's Sister is now available WI. This the true story of Mozart's older and also very talented sister whose career was derailed by her father who had beliefs against women in music (very standard at the time and also chronicled in the movie). In French with subtitles. Being a musician I really enjoyed this film.
