I've often felt the same as many here about the lack of video quality when watching anything Starz streamed on Netflix - it's poor at best. Tonight I watched a couple of movies, both From Staz, on my Roku 2 XS box and was pleasantly surprised at the PQ.
Has there been an improvement in the Starz encoding or is it the function of the Roku box? What ever the reason the image was considerably better than I have experienced in the past - I often avoid Starz Play moves due to the crappy video.
Starz and Netflix couldn't come to an agreement for a new contract. I think that Starz wanted them to charge an additional fee for it. They've been working on getting fresher content to stream from their suppliers and we're starting to see some results (Limitless, True Grit, No Strings Attached, Take Me Home Tonight, etc---see a list of HD titles sorted by release year here ). Still, the number of released-to-premium-cable fresh titles is no where near the size of the Starz Play collection.

Read today that not only has TW convinced NF to a 56-day delay, they will now prevent people from putting TW titles in the queues until 28 days after retail release!! http://www.dslreports.com/shownews/T...Netflix-118110
Yeah, I read that last week, and afterwards made up my mind to never buy any dvds from Warner Bros again. Yes, control how another company-a client of yours, deals with you, fine...but dictating what the customers of that company can do, something as innocuous, as adding a movie to their queue, is going overboard.
Sorry Warners, but you've lost me as customer, at least until you reverse this asinine [ESPN's Skip Bayless: assi-ten, assi-eleven, assi-twelve] decision.
