I have tried finding info on this question and do not know if this is the right forum, but I am trying to find if there is a way to receive live streaming broadcasts

on the internet. Have googled the subject and found numerous links links, but it seems they require their player software downloads, and I'm afraid what

malware might be in the downloaded player software.

Has anyone found sites that provide such live broadcast streams?

Is there some kind of a FAQ or forum covering this topic?? Thanks for your help

You may try your local stations site to see if they have live streaming. It is possible the majors (CBS, ABC, NBC, FOX, etc.) do not allow their affiliates to this. Remember, virtually all non disc based content is available only with a license, no license no content.

Your local PBS station could have live streaming, starting back in the 90's we had our main program channel on the internet along with our radio network.

My WDTV has something called "Skitter TV" that sounds like Internet-based cable. It's only available in selected areas (not in Chicago.) I have no idea if it's free or not. The web site doesn't tell you much.

Don't think the cable cartel would care for that idea ..

Of course, you can always stream to this thing we used to use back in the old days .. the antenna .. wink.gif
