InstantWatcher started to show the expired dates of shows again so I knew how much time I had to watch them but now every show and movie now says Available Until: Dec 31, 2099. Now when I watch a series I only have two weeks notice if it is going away. Useless.

Instantwatcher was been showing those far off expire dates for months now. Netflix decided, due to mostly to rivals using the info against them (going after titles and perhaps [supposition] bidding up the prices for renewal), to stop providing exact expire information in it's API used by independent 3rd party sites like instantwatcher. The limit of 2 weeks warning-matching what they provide online in our queues, went into effect at that time.

Site users can still check the Expiring soon section at least once a month and scan thru the listings to see if anything in their queue may be due to expire. The last title in that section at the moment, White Dog, goes away in 20 days...so there's up to 4 weeks warning posted only in the Expire Soon area.

Why they can't simply program the filters to add the exact expire date once it hits the 4 week margin is a mystery though....

Your wrong. I checked programs last week and they use to show the correct expired date.

I use the site every week. I saw no correct expire dates on titles when I check there. Only in the Expiring soon section, have I seen an exact date within the 4 week expire zone provided. They were offline for a couple of days. Perhaps there was some work being done/tested to add them, and they haven't initiated it full time?

According to the Streaming Soon site Netflix changes the developer terms of use thus rendering a lot of these sites useless and out of business.

Checked The Twilight Zone (Original) last week and it use to show July 2014 now everything is 2099. At least I know TZ won't expire in two months as I am only on episode 14 so i can start to watch it again. I am almost done with all the Star Trek series except for Enterprise which I have not even started yet because I don't know if it will expire this July. Also I really don't like Enterprise but that is another story.

Now I have to finish the other Star Trek's just in case.

I do hope this is only temporary. I doubt it though.

This issue began over a year ago. Unfortunately, it's not temporary.
