Has anyone successfully combined antenna coax, Basic cable coax and laptop streaming into an easy switching with one TV display? - AVS Forum

I turned in my TV cable set box today.  Ooma had completed porting over my home phone number and with the attic antenna I was ready to negotiate.  It is much easier to negotiate when you are ready to walk away.  I came in with a print out of the promotions for new customers and the equipment to turn in.  I walked out with a $70 savings a month but I kept the Basic cable with Turbo Internet service.  I guess cable cutting is a progression of letting go.  I am now looking for a set box that will let me connect the antenna, the cable, and a laptop together with a capability to switch between them,  There are new products coming out that look hopeful.  I am keeping my eye on the Mohu Channel box that has a remote.  

 

Have any of you put a TV tuner with a laptop connected to your TV display?  I want to combine into a controller the antenna, the cable and the laptop with a means to switch with out having to unscrew one and connect the other.

Congrats on moving toward a more selective way of watching your news and entertainment.

You could try an A/B switch but keep in mind you can't combine a cable signal and OTA on the same line. HDTV Technical is a good idea for your question.
