AMC is working on an overpriced streaming subscription service

Quote:
AMC is planning to launch a streaming subscription service that would offer commercial-free access to the network’s catalog of hit shows including The Walking Dead, Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad.
Unlike most standalone offerings that can be used by anyone willing to pay, AMC’s offering will reportedly be available exclusively to cable and satellite TV subscribers. What’s more, it won’t be cheap.

Don't really see the attraction since AMC is already included on other streaming services like PS Vue and Sling TV...and you don't need a cable TV subscription.

The AMC streaming service is free to cable and satellite subscribers, but like most on demand offerings, comes with with commercials.

It needs to be better than their app which I used to watch the start of episode one season two of "Preacher". PQ was very poor. The first two episodes are available without login. I used their Roku app on my TV.

I logged in to watch the pilot of The Son and I had the same issue. The PQ was sub par. Since I missed it this season, I'll just wait till it comes to Netflix, which is what I'm doing with Shooter season 1. I have the second Shooter season set to record on my DVR when it premiers later this month.

This is disturbing. It seems as if AMC is intentionally trying to fail at streaming. I don't normally buy into conspiracy theories but the involvement of Comcast makes me suspicious.

I would think if it's going to be a paid subscription it will be better quality. If they're really on the ball they could offer a 4K level. Most all production these days is at least 4K. Of course you have the usual suit thinking that they'll hold back 4K until everyone has a UHD player. They may have to wait awhile for that.

Yeah , but if they are giving free samples and people are seeing it is crap then whose going to want to pay ? I'm not going to pay them in hopes that they'll get it together and stream at a higher quality . Plenty of services stream HD and above , I'll give them my money because they've proven they want to provide what customers want .

It was like that when I got here
