I was doing a bit of investigation into a cinema that is now closed down in the Winton area of Bournemouth that was once called the Moderne. In later years it was changed into bingo hall. Today its being renovated or converted into church that won't re-open until 2011.

While looking around on the Cinema Treasures site I came across a link that a member posted about other cinemas in the Winton area.

One impractical was the Continental that is long since gone and was the oldest independent cinema in the Bournemouth, United Kingdom. I recall seeing a double bill of Planet of the Apes around mid late 1970's before around early eighties when it was closed down. Sigh
