It doesn't say that in the Wiki link you provided; simply lists movies with CDS soundtracks. You may be extrapolating based on the listed order. Besides, 'Dick Tracy' came out June 15th, 'Days of Thunder' came out June 27th.

If you click on the wiki link in my previous posts, it says about CDS: "It premiered with the film Dick Tracy and was used with several other films, such as Days of Thunder and Terminator 2: Judgement Day."

I do remember industry buzz around the film 'Dick Tracy' and that would be it. However the cinema I saw it in was only able to offer the Dolby SR.

The link says CDS used 16 Bit LPCM so lossess sound from the get go. Would have been cool if it worked out.
