The new SUPERBRIGHT 1.2" 2k chip upgradeable in 2011 to 1.385" 4K units are coming.

The SK version of the DP2K-32B is nicknamed the Katyusha for it's sheer light output power and lamp payload flexibility. Certainly not compliant with Californias new TV power usage guidelines, the Katyushas are for those with an already enormous carbon footprint.

Saturn moon SKöll will be the first home cinema outfitted with this beast with the SuperKontrast modifications and Depth FX, the power feed is three-phasic.

What is MSRP on these monsters? Any rumors about the 4k upgrade cost (I assume this can be done in the field)?

Anyway, if one was so worried about the carbon footprint, just use a perf screen with solar panels behind it

It's around the low 100, although I don't have the secret price list. Again this is not something you want to implement in low contrast rec 709 , you need to do things contrast enhancement to it to rock on Blu-ray.

I would estimate the light engine change to be in the range of 35k. Next Spring.

A more industrial type plain housing can be fabricaed on special order. For example you can get really cheesy thin metal painted matt grey. Whatever you want in this direction. if you want it to look better, wait for the Sim2 version OEMed on this.
