Vivitek also has a projector with build in 2D to 3D convertor, it's something like 700 euro and 720p. You guess how the 3D looked;-).

Ya I agree 100% as well. Words can't describe how cool it is what you are doing! I too am a 3D addict and crave everything in 3D and to be able to have that would be amazing! Keep up the great work Peter. Im so tired of hearing people dismiss 3D as a fad and a gimmick. Its refreshing to read your posts. And the 3D non-believers? They obviously never viewed a kick-ass 3D setup.

I look forward to having the ceiling closed next week...

Here is Carlos my BIM Modeller, with his laptop we are able to determine dimensions on the field with very precise accuracy, this is crucial to preserve maximum height under the projector.

Here is Bryce the Wall finisher reconciling measurements.

We could find the distance between any two reference points. I think our accuracy might be better than the 1/8 of an inch specified.

Man I wanted to try the new RealD Passive XLW technology, which would have required a microperfed silver screen, I convinced RealD to do their lease on a lump sum, but then It won't fit.

The greenfield is for the fan speed controller and a 230 volt low amperage out of the projector connected to a relay for the fan.

Many individual's opinion may be: Man that box is too big.

I say not when viewed in the proper perspective behind the seating array.

everything is impressive except the subs... reference theater reference sound.. oh wait can't go past 20hz...

check out some of the insane sub builds in the DIY forum now those are what I would call reference quality.. cinema subs really leave a lot to be desired.

PHC makes great stuff otherwise though

I think they will get the lowest frequencies from the 6 d-box actuator sets.

In any event there has been a bit of a design shuffling. The new cinema will be african motiffed, with a very sophisticated Tiger wall to wall carpet, dark beige walls, dark brown ceiling, and dark terracota leather seats to pick the terracota tiger stripes.

Something like this but darker better.

The name of the wall fabric is ADONIS, with the TIGER rug I am sure Charlie Sheen (with his adonis dna and tiger blood) would be proud.

I have reservations that the lens is going to hit the tilted porthole glass. We went there today to take as builds dimensions, the construction by Coastal Construction is better than 1/8 tolerances Kudos to them , they are not the most respected builder in Florida for nothing.

Christie had the best 4k image at the show due to the dark room presentation. They had an interest idea that I may consider polishing further for the porthole which is use a thick glass and then cutout the circle, but better finished than Christies hand cut plexi.

Still the Barco 2k at the Dolby booth was glorious, and so was the Meyer sound there with the speakers outside the solid screen, which interestingly enough in the Meyer Booth they used some microperforated screen; dude this screen is just plain wrong the dialog was really good but all kinds of the same crap I heard at the Steinway Lyngdorf demo with the same screen. The mid bass is weird muffled comb filtered ripply and bouncing all over behind the screen before it comes out. YUCK. They should have gone woven, the same system in the Dolby room worked great, in their own booth it sounded like what I told Tom Holman the demo in the Chicago Movie theater closed to the Galleria just before the 1991 pre-CEDIA pre-formation meeting, after he got explaining how the THX controlled directivity, diffusive surround and x curve was the hot ***** I told him: "pardon me but it sounds like someone is frying an egg behind the screen." Well at the Meyers ultra posh booth it sounded like someone brought the frying egg; ABSOLUTELY NOT SO with the same kit one ballroom over. Go figure.

Here is the underplatform rackspace in Skoll:

Look an American home cinema that is not controlled by an Ipad is an incomplete system. The direcTV app, Tha ap-20 app and the kaleidescape control app make it de rigueur.

Here is a way of keeping the ipad just where you need it on a d-box chair.

"Native white is a near perfect 6375k. Variance across screen is outstanding at only 26K",DCI projector.

"The parts on this projector appear clearly to be hand-picked and matched at the source".

And the most complex engineering of any D-Box and motorized chair combination "EVER".

To line up the floor j-boxes to the custom stands made by Cineak in order to accommodate the high-capacity actuators from d-box, has been tremendous coordination-wise look at the electrical and control conduit.

Not only is there 6 d-box seating groups, for 10 seats, 4 chairs and 2 sofas, but each zone/group has individual arm based intensity & motion control, Like in the d-box cinema.

But in addition there is Crestron control of each chair's footrest and independent swing up headrest. That is what makes the strato chair/sofa so cool.

Whenever the show starts all backs come up, whenever the show ends all legs go down, and then the backs tuck back in.

The platform wiring job is being handled in an EXCEPTIONALLY adept manner-Kudos to Coastal, again.

Behind platform, Equipment rack UNDERPLAT, electrical and signal control for chairs, Blu-ray jewelbox storage, more electrical and control for d-box and strato, more jewel box case's storage.
