Peter,
I'm sure that some place you mentioned it but what is the reduction in lumens and increase in contrast associated with the plate change.

Yep, that is the Odyssey mod right there. IT SHOULD BE A CONSTANT 22 FOOT LAMBERTS in Helene. Several of these plates were built: a 53% reduction which is Phase One, a 63% reduction which is phase two, the one on the left. With the 53% reduction on a 1.6kw lamp you knock brightness by a little over half, the SEQUENTIAL contrast is increased from 2,000-1 to 3,500-1. Ansi may have gone from 850 to a now 860. That would be a world record at the present time specially for cinemascope content, where the lack of anamorphic adapter gives that 860 a 33% advantage over other solutions. Of course my people keep on bitchin me that we wont see 860 ansi with Helene's suede chairs, Im already prepping the client about the possibility of having some black velvet throws.

The Odyssey Mod works just like a water hose going through a nozzle, you get less lumens (girth) but you get a lot more foot poundage (Contrast).

Here are some shots of the fabritrak system:

Going Under/above/sides of screen.

Side walls, some early reflection fiberglass absorption but mostly polly batting with 1/8" refraction slats.

What is the need for a 130kW diesel gen? There isn't enough power coming off of the grid?

I'm sure it will be put to use every time a hurricane wipes out the power grid for a few days. Not uncommon at all in this region of the US...

Peter,
Have you had the opportunity to run through some of the more noted LFE films like War of the Worlds with the TRW ?

I have heard from tony that one is insane. We do not have the trw yet, first the video is going in with a temporary Onkyo driving the ML, then when Tact audio ships, then Bruce comes down and balances everything, once that happen I'll call you. It will be ready for demo even though the amx will probably be still in progress.

Amazing theater but I have to say those tread lights look way too bright.
Where the treads face the screen I would have placed them in the side walls perpendicular to the treads and screen which would equally provide the necessary tread lighting while reducing the impact on the screen. The camera generally will add contrast but I suspect these lights in their present configuration would be magnificant if they were motion activated and therefore not impact the room during normal viewing.

Cineramax, I don't mean to be a ******** but I believe that/those mods would make the best better.

Those lights dim quite ti a low glow. They will only come on that bright when celaning the room or in exit mode.

The Lights are controlled as part of the amx 8.4" wireless touchscreen that recharges on a wall mounted modero motorized craddle.

That is what I am using. I love the GrafikEye. It is very easy to adjust as well.

Don't make the same mistake my electrician made. Don't buy track lighting with transformers built onto the lights. Buy lights that have transformers outside the room somewhere where you won't hear them. I have to replace all my lighting because the transformers hum quite noticeably the more you dim them...

My electrician screwed up a few things so I fired him...

NP. I hope no one else has to learn the hard way like I did. Now I have to pay twice to have the work done over again. The electrician was such a menace, I have to have other work repaired as well.

I was wondering what the massive excavation was all about.

Steps leading to the bathroom entrance.

The rack full of stuff , some belonging to the second upcoming rack but we tried the server in the front rack for noise testing. The Mechroom is painted battleship grey and begins to be detailed.

ML 432 stereo 800 watt 4ohm amp missing, huge global demand, parts required for production batch of 10 are ghard to come by, could be a 45 day wait. Shown 1 436 mono 700 watt @4ohm, and 2 431 stereo 400 watt @ 4 ohm.

Back rack data entry keyboard.

More steplights.

Porthole lit from behind.

Porthole seen from projector side, notice projectionist swinging peeping door.

All mech room wires will be distributed trough Panduit wire channels.
