I cannot believe this...but it looks like Maxmedia has a new box possibly replacing the MMDTVB03 model they put together. It is called LUTRO.

I can't believe it either. It's coming soon, as soon as whoever loaded the software does it right. The circus is in town.

Dagger would call that a suspicious post. And since...

I guess I would have to agree

So which will be available first - the web site or a LUTRO converter box ?

I few times before this the default home page was removed with the rest of the site intact. You may remember me posting a snotful of links that were still active back when we had hope

Just use Google with the "Site:" option to see all pages on a site.

Enter this:

Site:MaxMedia.com

Here's a link with "English", "Adult" content enabled, and 100 hits per page as example.

http://www.google.com/search?num=100...xmedia-usa.com

I got 293 pages, I clicked the whole first page of 100 without success.

Note also that if you click the "Cached" link on that first hit you can see what the above poster saw because it is still cached by google until they update it next sweep.

The new Max Media "Lutro" is now on the NTIA "approved-but-not-yet-available" list. Analog signal pass-through appears to be a definite feature.

Any believers?...

Puzzled over the CECB's rebranding.....I presume nobody here is planning to buy a MaxMedia "Lutro" from an unknown online web site, eh?

I would not rule out the LUTRO should:
- it actually exist
- it have all of the features I'm looking for
- others try it first and report excellent performance
- I get the coupon burned by the convertmy.tv fiasco replaced by the NTIA

So, odds at say - 1,000,000 : 1

It's that unknown online web site that would make me nervous. It's not the $40 coupon, it's the credit card information that would give me pause. If I really couldn't help myself, the product was that good, I'd ask my friends how they get those one time credit card numbers from their bank.

The goverment is full of cow pies, if they really were going to give you the coupon back all they have to do is sent out others or reactivae the oringal coupon. no big lawyer crap needed which is going to eat all the coupon money up anyway.

Has anyone else looked at MaxMedia's website recently?

http://www.maxmedia-usa.com/

Am I the only one who finds it just a bit too creepy?

Yeah, thats kinda creepy!

Well, they sure read this forum! After I posted a way to see all links to the site bypassing the default home page, that creepy page is set as a redirect no matter what old link you try.

That's one blurry ad. And either it's "here" or it isn't. Silicon tuner might be better, if I had adjacent channel conflict, which I don't. Now, it might draw interest if by "better picture" they meant S-Vid. Curious who the retailer is, can't imagine who would sign up for this.

Maybe the first 500 are free to make it up to the people they hurt. Including me.

watch the medallion closely... you are getting sleepy...you are asleep... when "Max" snaps his fingers ... you will awake and desire the Lutro... you must have the Lutro... you will use multiple coupons and use your credit card again & again and be willing to wait... & wait... & wait... you WILL wait!

Another creepy thing is that their support forum that was hosted on their site is missing.
I also bet that they deleted all posts about the MMDTVB02/MMDTVB03 or whatever it was going to be called.

I'd buy one, but only if I was allowed to use my credit card as protection. No coupons. That way if they failed to deliver, I could just reverse the charge.

I'm glad this thread was here.

It warned me not to spend my coupon on convertmytv.toascam, and instead I used the coupons at Circuit City.
