My mom has a DTT900 that works great. But, she wants to use it with a different tv and can't remember how to program the DTT900 to turn the tv on/off. And, of course, the owner's manual has been misplaced. I notice the owner's manual is not on the Zenith website. There are a couple other items, but they don't tell how to do this.

Can anyone tell me the steps to do this?

THANKS in advance.

There is the Insignia NS-DXA1 User Manual and the
Zenith DTT901 Quick Setup Guide
Hope these help.

Thanks Malouff! The quick set up guide didn't include instructions for using the remote to control tv power, but the Insignia user manual did. You just gave me a nice present to give my mom.

You should also post the answer for others
I know not everyone will look and others will ask.

Good idea. You turn the converter box on, hold down the tv power button on the remote control and repetedly hit the channel up (or down) key. Eventually the tv will turn on/off. When it does - you've programmed it.

They also have a list of the brands of tv that this will work with in the manual.

After programming the remote, do the volume buttons control the actual TV's volume, or does it only control the box's volume?

The converter box remote controls the converter box volume only.

If the first code she finds doesn't turn the tv back on again, have her keep going through the codes. I had to, to find the right one that did both. I'm also much happier now that I've programmed it into my learning remote.

It probably depends on if the remote codes required by the Zenith Converter Box and your TV are shared like they are for Nightowl4 if you can control the volume on your TV.
