JJPP is asking exactly the right question. Since we do not know his particulars, we can not assume he does not have a solid anntennae.
In actuality, he needs both a solid antennae, AND a sensitive tuner (cecb). It is not one or the other, it is both.
To answer his question, try the Insignia at BestBuy. The Insignia is the same box as the Zenith, except for the name branding. They are both made by LG.
Added: All cecb's are not created equal. That said any old set top box will not do. This is especially true when looking for a box for fringe reception. The Channel Master, and Zenith/Insignia have the best reputations for fringe reception. The Channel Master does well with weak signals, and the Zenith/Insignia do well with multipath in fringe areas.
I can not speak to the Apex boxes as I do not have one. My Zenith is more sensitive than my DS9950.
