Did the Maxmedia BOX (lutro) ever come out?

I know the first attempt never did. What about the Lutro?

It is a shame they had many orders when they fell apart.

For chuckles I just called 800-256-9040.

I was greeted by the usual non-human

1 = Company Directory

xxxx = Direct Connect

I pressed 1 for directory...

1 = Sales

3 = Accounting

4 = ASP Support

5 = Customer Service

6 = Technical Support

7 = Purchasing

8 = Repeat Menu

(2 = ???)

I pressed one, and was connected to a gentleman that could not help me.

He transfered me to extension 1510.

I got voicemail, not someone with a pulse.

I hung up and called back.

Next person had a bad microphone on their phone,

I was transfered to extension 1008.

1008 = Vicky

I asked what name to associate with extension 1510 and was told that was also her extension(???).

I asked about Lutro, and got the impression she had no idea about it.

She asked for my contact information, but I was not on my phone.

She said call back tomorrow, she would ask around concerning Lutro.

Hmmmmm.....

I'll call tomorrow, just cause...

Lexus2108, you meant "first TWO attempts", right?

I think they are setting this up so they can claim they had a past contract with the government for manufacturing goods, never mind that it was vaporware. They have claimed for many months that this product is available, and clearly it is not. The NTIA listing is based on what the mfgr says.

To get qualified as an approved CECB retailer, these companies were supposed to have some minimum level of retail experience. I think they used the marketing guy's concept website and called that retail experience. Or maybe it was the personal stuff sold on ebay that qualified them for retail.

The whole story continues to look fishy. The hyped combo of Smart Antenna, APT, S-Vid, and silicon tuner was too good to be true. But all that and only Now/Next, what were they thinking?

The website that plugged both the MaxMedia converter and the Lutro converter (and took orders for the MaxMedia model which were never filled) has been gone for several months - http://www.convertmy.tv . All that seems to remain is that tiny blurb at the poorly updated corporate website.

Yeah, It's just back over here again:
