I have an Insignia DTV NS-DXA1-APT that does not turn on. There is no light (red or blue) when the unit is plugged in.

I understand this is similar to the Zenith DTT901 model.

Does anyone know if there is a reset switch, diagnositcs I can run on the unit?

Thanks in advance!

If there is no power, a reset switch or any diags is pretty much out of the question.

You may want to look for a fuse that has failed. If there is not an external fuse socket, you may have to open the box. Just be sure the box is unplugged first.

the Insignia and Zenith 901 are the same, and there have been quite a few 901s that started malfunctioning and/or completely dying a few months after purchase (it happened to me), unfortunately your Insignia is one of them, I'm afraid.

The Zenith and Insignia CECBs have a "fusing resistor" as seen at the lower left in the first photo.

Is the fusing resistor in this picture: ZENITH DTT901 POWER CIRCUIT BOARD.jpg?

I would have to have a friend look at it who know what he/she is doing. I take it that this may have occured with other units.

Also, do you know if there are any schematic diagrams for this unit?

Thank you.

1. Yes, at the lower left. Notice the "Caution" text in the photo.
2. I don't have the schematics but they may have been posted back in 2008.

Thanks for the suggestions. My friend said that the unit does show power running through the unit, and doesn't believe it may be a problem on the power board.

He has not tested the fusing resistor specifically. Can the power board work / show power flow with a bad fusing resistor?
