I know this is slightly off topic, but the guys over in the LCD Displays forum are more focused on huge LCDs and pixel types.

I am about to move from my old 27" CRT + Insignia CECB (DTT901) to a 32" LCD HDTV, but I will stay OTA.

Can you guys share what brands of HDTV have good OTA tuners?

And, nearly as important, which brands have good on screen program guides?

Any screen shots would be most welcome.

720p: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0039NIRIW?tag=landcar-20

The cheapest 1080p Sony which has a guide is a couple hundred dollars more (Bravia KDL-32EX40), and has a built-in Blu-Ray player.

Sony is the only one that makes 32" LCD's with TV Guide on Screen, which is the best free guide you can get in a TV. They also have very good tuners.

Wow! The Sony Bravia KDL-32EX308 not only has TvGOS but also has internet widgets and some DLNA support! That's impressive. I think you just sold me a TV.

Yes Sonys do have a good OTA tuner(it's what I have) and if your area has TVGOS it's much superior to a PSIP guide like on your Zenith/Insignia CECB.
Even though PSIP has the potential to go out many days(I think 7) generally they go out much less, sometimes not even 6hrs and with your Zenith only next/now. TVGOS is always 24hrs and the full blown TVGOS(not on Sony TVs) goes out 8 days.
For a 32" set I wouldn't worry about 720p unless you plan on hooking it up to a computer where you'd need the increased resolution and be sitting only a few feet from the display.
If you live in a smaller market you can check rabbitears.info to see if a station in your area is broadcasting TVGOS.
