Hello !

I am new on this forum, I hope that is the good section for my question.

My question :
Is there possible to obtain the resolution 3840 x 2160 @ 60Hz with only one display port connection ?
Is there a standard for this app ?
Precisly, is it possible with this display : http://www.sharp-world.com/products/professional-monitors/products/pn-k321/specifications.html ?

I don't know where and how to search this information.

Thank you for help !

Probably not as this is within the dusty ol' DTV converter box forum. Try digging around in the pull-down menu where it shows "Forum Nav:"

Hi,

I don't find about DTV Converter box.

But I find a information that you may be able to confirm : it's possible with MST function which is a part of DisplayPort version 1.2.

Anybody can confirm that ?

Thank you !

Dear Florian

I am having a similar problem. DP1.2 support 3840x2160 @ 60Hz on one channel. To do this the transmitter and receiver have to support 5.7GHz (600Million pixels per second). There are a lot graphics card that support this on the transmitter but no one has a DP sink receiver chip yet. The details of DP receiver chips is on VESA site.

I am designing a monitor for Air Traffic Control where I want a single feed.

All of the current 3840x2160 and 4096x2160 monitor use a minimum of 2 inputs to fool the graphics cards it has two monitors and the controller card puts them back together.

I may have to design a DP interface which has 2 lanes in the same cable both at 3.4GHz using the DP1.2 display daisy chain feature. It will still look like 2 monitors but at least it will be only one cable.

Any consolation is that the current generation of UHD monitors are using 30Hz panels so a 60Hz controller is not of much use. I am designing using the new 60Hz panels being driven by 8 lane V-by-One.

I am looking for a COTS LCD controller board that has DP1.2 input and will drive a 8 lane V-by-One output !!!!

Mike
