I'm a sucker for a Luc Besson flick featuring a comely woman in the lead.

I watched the movie. Suspension of disbelief, mentioned earlier in this thread, is required. That is a writer's and director's shortcut (presuming the public won't notice or won't mind if they do) and plenty a writer and director is getting lazy in that regard; a crutch to get from scene to scene that, in this movie, left this viewer scratching his head. Like the pool scene in the embezzler's hideout. She might as well have used the Star Trek transporter to access the pool and I probably would have accepted it under suspension of disbelief considering all that occurred before and after. Regardless, I liked the flick and will watch it again.

Yes and yes.

It was a fun and entertaining movie. No it didn't break any new ground, but neither did it bore anyone!

And let's reiterate who stars in this movie.

I caught this a couple of weeks ago from Netflix via BR. It was everything that I could expect from this sort of action film, so much so that I bought the BR disc. It has not disappointed. IMHO, it is spectacular with Hanna and Haywire not even coming close. It is a stunning production with great authenticity and highly entertaining.

I also enjoyed Columbiana, and own the BD.

However, Haywire is much more believable than this is.

I was not referring to the actress in Haywire, but the obviously mailed in effort by Soderburgh which made me cringe because Haywire could have been a lot better, if he had put any effort into it at all, like he did with Contagion. It is an oddity, but once you see the trailer, you could pass up the actual film and not miss much. I am probably in the distinct minority, but I wouldn't buy Haywire BR, brand new, @$4.99.

Fair enough. I liked them both, but I had interest in Haywire due to being a fan of Gina Carano when she was in MMA.

I saw it again. Kudos on casting. What impressed me were all of the bad guy's acting talent and looks for the parts. These were bad dudes on par with those seen in DePalma's Scarface.
