Ugh. Just finished watching this with the family. Had constant audio dropouts throughout the entire movie. I have an onkyo Tx805 and an oppo 93 blu ray player. Good equipment. Watched in dolbytruehd. 7.1.

So what's the deal? How does a major release like this get messed up by a top tier company?

I've got an Oppp 93 too and have the same issue, but it's not just this BD it's lots of others too with DolbyTrueHD audio being the common denominator. As others have said just change the audio in the Oppo 93 to decode itself rather than bitstream. You won't have the fancy blue HD audio light up on your receiver but the audio will be identical and won't drop out. Pretty simple fix.

I know of at least one Sony player owner who also had issues in the MU thread, so unfortunately some Sony players can also get tripped up.

JVC 3D: Been there, done that, bought a DLP

Players are obviously fallible and they do make so many different lines. But your singular observation highlited the point quite well IMO - thanks for sharing.

Problem on my Pansonic BDT230, also. Started about 40 minutes in and stopped about 1:20.

Man this movie was awesome and the colors and visuals were out of this world! Unfortunately i watched it with my family while the audio clipped every 30 seconds, that sucked! I spent $2800 on a receiver and $1200 on the blueray player and i have all kinds of new release blueray movies and none of them have had issues. This is really disappointing for them to mass produce this hit movie and not even know it has this issue, how does that even happen? mad.gif

Supposedly you can switch the blueray player to pcm and itll correct this problem. I havent tried this yet but hopefully it works because the visuals and the 3d version is amazing. Ive never seen that many different vibrant colors at this level on a movie and it really looks amazing. This is probably the best looking movie in 3d that ive seen and i buy a ton of bluerays all the time.
