ST looked and sounded terrifc at West Palm Beach IMAX 3D.

Good film for Sony to offer as part of their roll-out SEN for 4K Server owners.... any chance of that?

There's a great discussion of that in this thread:

I saw it on Vmax no Dolby Atmos and it sounded awesome. Very well balanced. MOS know that was terrible way too much LFE over powering everything else at the theatre I saw it at.

I saw it in the theater and the sound was way to loud. I couldn't even enjoy it. Can't wait to buy it and watch it at home.

I'm excited that this will be released before too long. I'm bummed because I recently moved so my theater room is no more along with my gear boxed up. I'm excited that I get to build a new theater room with a few enhancements. I'm bummed that I probably won't be done until maybe October. I'm excited that I'll still get to watch it upon release on the wall mounted family room tv....which is closer to the pantry....and the refrigerator....biggrin.gif

Hi Ralph, any idea if the 3d blu is variable or constant aspect? The 2d blu is confirmed as 2.35 constant while the itunes commentary is variable. Indications are the 3d blu will also be constant 2.35, but nothing 100% confirmed from what I have read.

I will have more definitive answer after I receive the actual BD to evaluate. The benefit of having the"loseless" format.wink.gif

Hello guys and gals

Headed to my local Best Buy here in NYC, and noticed there's two non 3D packaging I believe one was 27 bucks and the other was 24, while the 3D version was a bit over 30 or so. And no it wasn't standard DVD, that one was around 19 bucks.

Was wondering what's the difference between the or two blu without the 3D, besides the pretty clear sleeve Enterprise art cover, and the cheaper cardboard mainly black, minimal cover?

I was breaking my head looking over the differences, I decided to ask one of the BB flunkies, and surprise he wasn't sure either rolleyes.gif

Thanks in advance

Djoel

For some releases they've been charging $5 more for the collectible metal tin packaging. Maybe that was one of them. I bought mine at Walmart and I believe there was two different 2D versions, it also could be they one came with a digital copy and one didn't. I should have played closer attention.

I watched the 2D version a few days ago and the audio was truly awesome. I plan to watch it a few more times within the next few weeks (including 3D) and pay more attention to the video aspect of the film. I've gotta say that I'm very happy to have this one in my collection.

Hey Comfy, neither of the sets had the tin packaging, I also purchased World War Z and that one happened to have an unrated cut, so I thinking the Star Trek could a different 2D like you're saying. Maybe I should have paid a bit more attention.

Anyway I didn't purchased so no harm no foul smile.gif

Thanks
