Lee,your comments on what has to be the most convincing digital movies I've seen where correct , they captured the mood perfectly and gives me some peace on future digital releases , having said that ,and as a fan of the originals this one left me wanting, the A/V on this one is its only saving grace! but just not enough to make me feel good about my purchase eek.gif Yeh I bought it biggrin.gif

Although tha A/V is amazing for this movie, this movie is nothing but a gorefest that's not scary or even creepy... And usually I'm extremely easy to be creeped out.

I felt the same way about this movie. If you like blood and gore this movie is for you. There's plenty of it. Glad I only rented it.

I enjoyed it, especially some of the cues to the other Evil Dead. I wish more movies were shot like this, looked great.

Saw the remake and thought it was overall very good. It made me go out and but the Bluray version of the original Evil Dead part 1 and 2.

I liked it but being a fan of the series and seeing the original at the theater it lost the impact the first one had on me. I think the missing sense of humor in this one, unlike the originals, bothered me a bit too. I'd still recommend it to any horror fan.

The television screen is the retina of the mind's eye.

I saw this movie last night, and there was nothing I liked about it; not sight, sound or substance. frown.gif

I, for one, didn't think much of the original back in the day. I just didn't get it. I'm very pleased to hear this one is more serious and with the excellent technical scores I am now really looking forward to it on Blu. Thanks, Lee! wink.gif

I was thoroughly impressed with how good this movie was. Especially the ending!

I was so impressed with the direction of this movie that I looked up the director to see what else he's done, and it appears as though he hasn't done much if anything else?

Considering that Sam Raimi oversaw this new remake, I can't help but wonder how his input and the choice of the director came about.

Not me, the gore is over exaggerated it's just not scary at all. I'm more grossed out from watching Hostel.

Excellent review Lee.

I will pick up this one. I love the whole 'Book of Dead' theme. It has been touched upon throughout the years, in various other movies, like 'Friday the 13th- Jason goes to Hell' and 'The 9th Gate'. Enjoy!
