Good reason...both French electronic/shoegaze outfits Daft Punk and M83 share some similar bits of production sounds and tastes. I still love the Tron Legacy soundtrack and listen to it often.

Excited to get ahold of this disc today for multiple reasons. smile.gif

I also saw it last night and I Agree completely. The review was spot on. Video and Audio was picture perfect. Other than the very end scenes, the effects were so lifelike they looked 100% real. The audio was incredible and there were several breathtaking scenes. Love or hate Tom Cruise, he is in a lot of good movies. An excellent movie to use as a demo.

And I also was reminded of Tron Legacy at several moments during the soundtrack.

Going to do this one outside Saturday on the big screen and I'm liking what I'm reading here!

Just finished my outdoor sub and I'm playing it smart this week and moving my Definitive BP 20's outside for the fronts instead of listening to a pair of outdoor speakers ~75 feet away, 20 feet in the air, and 30 feet to the right of the screen. rolleyes.giftongue.gif

But I'm taking this thread a bit OT with that, sorry!

Watched it last night and I agree with the review also, it summed it up exactly. Picture and sound was excellent. Couldn't play it as loud as I wanted to but the bass kicked in nicely when needed. The movie itself I would give 4 out of 5 stars. A little predictable but the story kept moving and the visuals were beautiful. The CGI is some of the best i have seen. Extremely difficult to tell what was computer generated and what wasn't. I'll be watching this again.

Just finished watching this today while the kids were out of the house for a while. I really enjoyed it, maybe not worth owning at release date prices but probably in the $10 bin. The A/V was fantastic and although the story ended up feeling like something I'd already seen and deflating my excitement a bit I still enjoyed it. Very much agree with the review as well, thanks!

Just finished and this was a great blind buy. Good movie that will get some repeat viewings. The A/V was fantastic and Ralph's review says it all. smile.gif Did a quick preview of the isolated score and I am looking forward to listening to all of it with the video off. This is the type of extra that I will use and it sounds incredible!

+1 on the isolated score. Some elements from 2001, a Space Odyssey, and Solaris in this movie. Rented and watched last night, probably will buy.

I watched it last night and I also had problems with my center channel being too low. I tried it with my Oppo 93 and my ps3, also tried bitstream and pcm with the same results. Maybe there was a bad batch?

I really wish they would include an isolated score more often as an extra. Like I mentioned, I just did a quick 10min preview after the film and I had to pull myself away it sounded so good! Looking forward to finding time to listen to the whole thing in one sitting. Would love to have an isolated score for Tron Legacy and quite a few others. cool.gif

Regards,

I confirmed I had the audio skipping right off the bat on the isolated score on my my Oppo 103 set to bitstream, I haven't yet attempted LPCM output but I'm sure that will correct it. It seems like when set to bitstream my receiver kept switching between stereo and True HD which then caused the audio skip, so there must be some sort of trigger contained in the LPCM output that causes AVR's to, for lack of a better word, freak out. I will say I was a bit confused on how to even turn on the isolated score at first, then realized you set the option to 'yes' and then go back and click play as if you were to start the film.

I watched 'Mud' last night, which was a good story and had some pretty decent acting by a couple of the cast members (The Ellis and Mud characters I thought to be fairly convincing), but it was certainly not the technological treat Oblivion is. Hoping to watch Oblivion tonight and piss the neighborhood off a little bit.

It seems odd that there could be a "bad batch" that only caused the center channel volume to be too low. Did you try just cranking up your center channel a few db on your AVR?

Very strange that there is low center volume on just a couple of these.
