Just go with it -- sometimes you need the force of a giant robot punching a kaiju to be effective vs a dinky little cannon from a tank or missile.

Well, yes, it is about giant robots, after all. If conventional weapons were effective, then no robots; therefore, no movie.

I was amused by the "logic" of the coastal wall. We can't kill 'em, so we'll fence them in. It made no sense at all, unless you've worked with politicians on critical issues. They come up with lamebrain ideas like this all the time.

What I can afford, when I can afford it...

Well, conventional weapons did bring down the first four, but it was long and drawn out resulting in multiple cities being lost.

How it should have ended: Pacific Rim

This movie was all about being a throwback to old school robot movies, and the only thing it was missing was the English being dubbed in biggrin.gif it has some great LFE and it seemed like it was constantly rattling my house smile.gif

Fixed your link.

I liked Pacific Rim. The 3d version is on its way to me.

It seems to be a very good version of what it attempts to be. I enjoyed the acting and, well, all of it.
Is it realistic? While I'm watching, it is. Good popcorn flick.

I like this linked clip too.

I saw that issue during the first fight scene as well. I kept changing everything about the 3D settings on my TV, wondering what I did to screw it up.

What are they doing to fix this? Any recalls, by chance?

Just finished watching the 3D version and it is fun. I looked for the issue from 10:30 to 18:00. Didn't see it; but that is a pretty frenetic fight.

You know I realize that logic of physics and such are not adhered to very well but the movie moves along well. And I think the acting is fine. Fun flick. Consumed much popcorn.

I have strange problem (?) with my copy of PR 3D. Just after the first fight with Kaiju, when they lost signal with Gypsy, Marshall is seen and... my 3D is lost. Well - the movie still goes in 3D, cause picture is 'blurry', but my glasses are automaticly turned off just like they lost signal. After about 10 seconds glasses works propertly (turns on again). A moment later, there's scene when old man turns metal detector to the sea (Gypsy comes out the sea) and this happens again. Glasses 'reset' (going off for a while, and then turns on again).

I have Benq W1070 and Sainsonic glasses, Pioneer 150 player. Never happened before. Is it DLP signal problem (lost signal). Is DLP signal decodec somehow on bluray disc or it is made by projector ?

Edit:

Checked it on my PS3 - same issue.
