I liked the story and the movie. On the other hand, Ants? Why are these invaders often animals? Animals are intelligent but not in a way that enables them to invade other planets. That never will happen in the real world. So the ant thing was a bit of a turn off.

The story was written in the early-mid 80s.. Alien Ants was still in vogue apparently..

I know I'm digging this one up... But I just watched it tonight and I was completely astonished by the special effects. Never have I been more impressed by the rendering of space battles nor fictional characters.

Edge of tomorrow and The maze seemed like low budget renderings in comparison (not that I didn't love both films)

I haven't had my breath taken away like this since the first Jurassic park. I hope more films like this pop up.

Watched on an f8500 with a 4.1 system at reference, bass 6dbs hot.
