Yes Wall Street had all the eye candy you could want and it was a easy and fun plot to follow. For me Jonah Hill was the scene stealer in that movie.

But if you where around in the 70"s American Hustle was a lot fun and had a intriguing plot with a lot of twists and turns.
A movie you had to follow close, to really enjoy.

I own both Blu Ray's.

Going by AMERICAN HUSTLE, no one smoked in the 70s. WOLF captured its era far better than AH.

I cannot say enough about the brilliant performances of the film's wonderful ensemble cast, particularly Jennifer Lawrence as the deeply flawed but charming Rosalyn. Lawrence was my pick for Best Supporting Actress.

It will come as no surprise that I rented the BD today and watched the film again tonight. I am pleased to report that it was better than ever the third time. thorough. American Hustle passes my acid test for outstanding movies: It gets better every time I see it. Thought the PQ and HD audio quality were wonderful. This is a BD that I will be buying.

Watching my copy tonight. Hopefully I'm able to give it a 10/10 smile.gif

Hi Ralph smile.gif

This was a good movie but didn't live up to the expectations i had hoped for considering the movies it was up against and a few that weren't considered . I found it hard to get into but if anyone carried the movie it was Bale ! his performance was incredible and the girls here delivered in spades as well, Copper whom I like, I found a little too much of himself and not the character he was portraying , De niro well of course just flat out solid! all in all well written but I've seen better this year " Rush & Saving Mr. Banks come to mind along with "The Wolf of Wall Street " wink.gif

Interesting that Robert De Niro is nowhere to be found in the credits of this movie. There is reference to Mr. Tellegio's Consigliere in the credits but nothing for the actual character (De Niro), I thought this is unusual.

Good movie. Nothing spectacular in terms of audio/video that would get me to purchase it on bluray to watch later.

Thanks for the great review, Ralph!

I wasn't so sure that I'd like this film, but was recently able to catch it on blu-ray for a price that was too good to pass up, so I watched it last night. Bale, Adams, Lawrence, Cooper, and Renner all worked superbly together, and their acting was fantastic. The story certainly kept my interest, and the period music that played throughout was wonderful to hear. I'll be watching this one again within the next few days, and am very glad to have this in my private blu-ray collection.

I honestly think this movie is better on a second watch. I recently watched this one with my dad and was quite surprised how much I liked it better on the second go around. I think Jennifer Lawrence could be over the top, but according to deleted scenes, I think she toned it down just enough.

Some movies just take longer to soak in with me.

I didn't think I'd like it at all (and was very reluctant to purchase it), but was pleasantly surprised by this one. Now, I'm looking forward to that second viewing, and thinking that like you, I'll find it even better the second time around. Hoping to watch it again this weekend, but with the wife this time.

Has anyone noticed that the blu-ray for this movie has a slideshow of a japanese garden on it? What's up with that?
