YOU crack me up
I just spent the last six days reading all of this thread……..
WOW, on the seventh day I rested. I have never laughed so hard. The most fun I have had on AVS. Need to get back to work on my build now. You have distracted me more than I would have thought. Oh, and during my read I came up with my thesis on your work here. My mathematical proof shows all,

That looks like it took a LOT of work. How much theater-building did it accomplish? First off, your t scale is off by a factor of 2....TEN years not 5. And here's a hint to solving the equation.....

Spoiler!

LOL not much lately thanks to you and AVS. Actually, the very first words in this forum you said “maybe you mounted that projector too soon?” yeah that’s me, and it really pulled me into what you had to say. Needless to say it is how you gracefully make your points…. No, your trash talk, that I love the most.

Indeed, I guess every good theory could use refinement or some derivation. Glad to have you back here posting again I know you had been MIA there for a little while. I will be patiently waiting for the big news.

Yeah, I just made that part up. As I remember, it was me you were looking at. But those two pics were taken one right after other and it sure LOOKS like you were busted. And the video DOES put MRS. Big in that general direction.

Just to show that Big wasn't the ONLY one.....

Completed Theater Pictures

Its been quite a journey....TWO floods (after the second I was about to give up completely), a kitchen ceiling that collapsed due to a bathroom leak from above, a commute throughout the length of the build that caused me to GREATLY overestimate the amount time I could work in the evenings and changes in plan along the way. That, and a balky back that limited me to 4-6 hours of work on GOOD day. It all adds up, to TEN years.

First, I'd like to thank Jeff Parkinson (whom we all know as BigMouthinDC) for his design inspiration, help, encouragement, willingness to sweat his butt off on the hottest day of the year to help me clean up after flood number 1, sense of humor and friendship. I TRULY could not have done it without him.

Second, I'd like to thank Mark Wright (BritInVA) for his help, inspiration, willingness to sweat HIS butt off on the hottest day of the year to help me clean up after flood number 1 and his patience in walking me through the learning curve that is programming a URC 980 remote. For that, I am truly greatful.

Thirdly, for bar building design, inspiration and a great snese of humor, I'd like to thank ~HeyNow. I'd LIKE to thank him, but I'll only do it when he comes down out of the WV hills into the lowlands so that I can do it personally.

Lastly, but certainly not LEAST, I'd like to thank ALL of you that have been along for the ride and contributed to this wacky thread. Your help, encouragement, general sense of fun kept me going. I can only hope that I've helped you NEAR as much as you've helped me.

With that, let's get to it. Here's a reminder, from TEN years ago....

And...

Down the stairs. Just after carpeting...

AND NOW.....the Yellow Dog Cinema

And Draft House...

Front of room, right before I put up the lettering...

Back of room

Entry hall/concession area looking back at bottom of stairs....

Hallway to bathroom, storage area and fridge....

Equipment...
What's behind the screen?

2" Linacoustic covered with black GOM.

An SVS Cylinder sub 20-39 pci+/ with 320 BASH amp. And AXIOM Center.

Axiom Front L&R Tower.

And a few bass traps.
Left...

and right.

PROJECTOR
Panasonic PT AE4000u. Bulb about gone, good thing it came a with a free replacement. WOW, the flash REALLY shows up the marks on the flat black paint. I NEVER notice it under normal lighting conditions.

Other equipment. Denon 3806, Comacast cable box, 4x4 Monoprice matrix switch, 8 port cat6, Sony BDP, URC RF/IR converter.

More details around the room....
The seats. 4 Berkline 13174. With Butt Kickers. I haven't really been using the butt kicker because thy have the wireless amp and I get interference so thery fire at really weird times. I've now tried to wire the amp, so i'l lbe playing around with susing them. Does that make it the first upgrade?

Carpet. Joy Carpets, Walk of Fame in Burgundy.

Side wall. Fabric (GOM) on frames attached directly to wall. 1" Linacoustic behind fabric.

Sconces, 4 total. I forget brand/model...but they look GREAT!

Back of room. Equipment closet closed, disc storage and door to mechanical room..

Bar.
Behind bar looking into room. It WAS a GREAT Grand Opening party!

Looking across bar.

Left side above bar. Hanging light and Bud bar sign.

Right side above bar.

Front of bar.

Dry bar. Originally was going to go behind the seats for a second row, but I got carried away on the size. Now it sits across from the bar along the wall. Works out great for putting out food and snacks. Turn the chairs around and watch the TV over the bar, or better yet, the BIG screen.

And to roundout the bar area tour, these are the drape LOGANESS made to cover the sliding glass door. Velvet with blackout cloth lining. Make the room totally dark, even in daylight. And really cut down on the echo while sitting in that area.
