BwaHAhaHAHAAAAAA. My plan is coming together nicely. And now I don't even have to sit around and harangue you guys. I can do NOTHING AT ALL and still win.

Oh wait, did I just post that? I was only supposed to be thinking that.

I think you should get some kind of extra-special LOGANING just for listening to your electrician buddy. You have any plumbing "buddies" help you out, too? You'll be going backwards tearing out drywall. At least I'm moving forward.

This one will be extra-sweet to win.

ghause,

Funston shows mettle. Now if he would just use that metal skull of his for something useful, like a bucket and start bailing, maybe he'd actually get something acomplished.

You know guys, if we work together and keep posting things to make Tom have some witty comment, he'll never get done as he will be spending all his time on here making up witty remarks... Meanwhile we divide and conquer our theaters and let Tom go crying home to mommy because he got beat so bad that his good old mother would not recognize him anymore....

Oh, the pressure - I can feel it mounting already.

I'm not certain, but I bet I'm not going out too far out on a limb to say that's the first time the phrase "open this big can o' whoop theater" has ever been used on AVS... which is obviously an accomplishment to be proud of.

The roofer finally got the roof dried in and I finished the framing today. Let it rain, it won't slow me down now!

HVAC and plumbers both in the house tomorrow and Friday, and I will start the low voltage wiring in the theater on Saturday and the electrician starts wiring the rest of the house on Monday.

I like Mastiffs theory of keeping Logan busy replying to the thread and spending an excessive amount of time thinking of witty retorts.

Looks like Funston and I are the only REAL men around here. But I'm still so NOT scared that it looks like another weekend of no work.

Let's see...golf yesterday (and EVERY Wednesday through the summer), Tuesday night band rehearsals, Friday night deck parties in the neighborhood (starting in June through the summer), golf trip in two weeks, vacation in August, inlaws in town tonight for weekend family things...STILL can't get a day off for the inspection.....I figure I'm spotting you guys at LEAST three days a week for the next year.

You knuckleheads had better take advantage while you can.

Ha! I sent the wife packing yesterday... got rid of her for the weekend. Helped my daughter finish a school project, had to build a maze for her hamster. Scrap riser and stage materials came in handy. Then I moved some electrical wires which were attached to the beam and attached to the joists overhead. Also did some more sheetrocking, nearly done now.

Had to go grocery shopping this morning (ya I'm man enough to admit that) and now I'm gonna do some yard work (70 degree weather here today). Going to my son's track meet today, cooking dinner cleaning up and so on and I'm still gonna do more than Logan, Ha ha!!!

Appalling!

This makes no sense. What in the world are these kids going to do after high school? I can't even interview anyone without a college degree, so I really wonder what's available for those w/o a high school diploma.

One thing that I found funny was that they had to ESTIMATE the number of graduates and dropouts!!?? Seems in this day and age, we shouldn't have to guess how many kids make it through.

Scary....really scary.

They are helping me pay for my home theater -- I was a federal prosecutor, now a criminal defense attorney in Atlanta. Kepp droppin' out boys ... I sent one guy away for robbing a bank, 23 years old, and had been arrested 24 times since he was 17. One two occasions he got re-arrested the day he bonded out from his prior arrest.

I would accept Logan's gracious proposal, but my construction "skills" quickly convinced me to pay someone to build it for me ... and it is still taking forever. I don't see how you guys do it.

If you are paying sombody to do it, and it's taking forever, I'd be slightly worried? I think a dedicated crew could do a theatre in a month or two. I believe Dennis's crew bang out the rooms pretty quick. I can't find cpanthers thread, but it will give you an idea of timelines...

They encapsulated and are renovating the entire basement, second kitchen etc, so much more than just an HT -- although that is the only part I will get to enjoy and therefore all I really care about.

P.S. Logan is a sissy.

HEY! I OBJECT!

No instigating from the bystanders. That's like shooting a guy in the back. I know how you guys think (my wife works for one of you). "But, Your Honor, my client was cleaning his gun when it went off five times when he jumped in front of the bullets." Although, probably more realistically, "My client never saw that guy's face before in his life. What gun? My client denies ever seeing that gun."

Here is an absolutely, 100% true, story from the case files of my wife's boss.

He's hired to defend a drunk driver. The first thing he does is completely ignore the client until the moring of the trial. Then he goes in and gets a postponement because he's "only just this morning spoken with his client for the first time." In the meantime, Mr. Client gets himself arrested AGAIN on a DUI and gets court date. The date of the first DUI comes up and he gets it postponed AGAIN (for "Scheduling conflicts) to a date AFTER the court date of the second DUI. He goes to trial on the second charge first and gets Mr. Client off, because, well, THERE ARE NO PRIOR CONVICTIONS. So now he gets him off on the first charge too, because, well, THERE ARE NO PRIORS. Mr. Client gets arrested a THIRD time, but then spoils it all by dying of cirrhosis of the liver before the next trial.

I appreciate any and all comments, and a little smack talk is one thing, but no blindsided potshots unless you're in. The right to take shots like that at me is probably the ONLY tangible benefit to being LOGANED.

I just started my build about a month ago, really I started demo a month ago, and I'm just now getting to doing some framing. I'm sure in between work, kids, and just plain living, I can get my basement done before this Logan guy. Count me in!

Framing to be done by this weekend (Weather forcasts rain and sleet, so perfect weather to be inside swinging a hammer... yeah I'm using a hammer wanna fight about it?)
Electrical done at night next week
Build and install a swing/playset in my backyard over the weekend (distraction)
Finish up electrical the following week
Buy and bring in drywall
Wait to install drywall until my back gets better from brining it down stairs
Procrastinate until August then realize that football season starts in a few weeks and if I want to get the job done before the end of the year it needs to be done now.
Get distracted by football season
Finish up drywall
Mud-tape-texture
Realize I missed somethign critical prior to installing drywall, have to remove 1/3 of what i had installed.
......Two years later finish.

yeah, I'm gonna win this.....

You're WAAAY too easy. How do you expect to get the electrical done AT NIGHT? Good thing you have that thick skull of yours becasue you'll bumping into walls in the dark. HEY! Maybe you can use your head instead of a hammer. At least it would be good for SOMETHING.

Work from the electrical boxes back to the power source. Then over the weekend, or early one evening before the sun goes down, turn the power off, make a few connections, turn the power back on and viola! Power! This is how I have done it in all of my remodel projects.

I'm sorry you can't think that far ahead in your projects. No wonder it has taken you this long to get where you are.
