The grossness of that is relative in the following ways:

1) Directly proportional to the length of time elapsed between pre-cleaning and putting 'em in the DW.
2) Indirectly proportional to the length of time you've owned the hound.
3) Directly proportional to one's love of cats.

MAJOR MILESTONE!!!!!

OK, not in the actual build, in the thread views.....

hit 100,000 views overnight!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday it was 99,900+ and overnight it shot up to 100K. Some lucky guy out there was 100,000th viewer and missed out on his prize.

Come on now, you didn't really expect me to report build progress, did you?

Not for long if the weather cooperates this weekend. Got a couple of inches of snow last night and expecting more this weekend. Have to haul all that dricore and sand and maybe a couple or 6 of 4x8 sheets of 5/8s ply for the stage into the basement.

Man, just suck it up and get it done. It doesn't need to be sunny and warm for you to carry some dricore to the basement. If it does, then hire Jose at 7-11 to help you for a few hours.

Shees....

That IS my intent, except that I intend to hire Jose AND Juan and just point where I want the piles, provided I can get there to hire them in the first place.

Just got called today, Dricore is in.

Nah. The weather guys are calling for another snowpocalypse. The weather advisory says:

* ACCUMULATIONS... THIS STORM IS LIKELY TO PRODUCE 12 OR MORE INCHES OF SNOW IN THE WATCH AREA... WITH A GOOD CHANCE FOR LOCALIZED AMOUNTS OVER 20 INCHES.

...starting Friday AM through Saturday afternoon.

Not again! Need to get to the store this evening and pick up some more plywood for the riser top.

Whats with you guys getting so much snow? I'm just outside Toronto and we've had probably 3" total so far this winter. It's ridiculous. As far as I'm concerned, you guys are lucky.

I remember the storm back in '83....they weren't expecting 36 inches then either. We were socked in for a week! Nothing was moving. This storm has some big potential. And yes, I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night....

Go figure that of all the years for my snowblower to break, it had to happen this year. Just spent the last hour calling around to see if I can find a replacement and pretty much everyone store is sold out in the size I need. While my driveway is shortish, me and my three other neighbors are responsible for our pipestem and that is close to 250' long. i don't want to have to do that by hand again.

What's the problem? Not starting? I can run down the list my neighbor Keith went thorugh to get mine running.

1) Pull the cover off the carbureator
2) Spray a half can of starting fluid in there.
3) say "Hmmm" a LOT.
4) prime it and see if any gas is getting into the cup
5) pull the gas line off the cup to see if any gas is getting in from the tank.
5a) wipe up the gas that spills from the cup as you remove it.
6) Check the tank to be sure gas is in it
7) try to clean up the gas that spilled out of the gas line onto your hands
8) replace the gas line
9) Spray 1/4 can of starting fluid in there
10) say "hhmmmm" a LOT more
11) Prime it
12) spray a couple of squirts of starting fluid in there.
13) decide that at this point pulling the carb can't make it any worse than it already is
14) remove one of the screws holding the carb to the frame
15) start to remove the second one and say" That one seems to be a LOT looser than the other one."
16) tighten it up
17) replace and tighten the first screw
18) prime it
19) spray in the the lsat 1/8 of can of starting fluid
20) Voila! spend the next five hours snow throwing!

The drive belt broke. A replacement manufacturers belt has been on order but it still hasn't arrived. My neighbor who is more mechanically inclined just came home with a generic one and he's going to try to install it in the morning. I sure hope it works.

From CT myself and did my undergraduate studies at Syracuse. Now that city got snow. We got around 220" per winter. It wasn't considered a big deal for us to do a taco Bell run in white-out conditions. A smidge stupid, but not much so as you just learned to deal with it. But I have to admit, I've become a bit wimpier driving in the stuff around here simply due to all the accidents I've seen. Lots of people don't get how their SUVs don't stop better because they have 4 wheel drive.
