YIKES!

Normally when you guys get rain (or snow for that matter) we get it too, but we hardly got any of the rain that you guys got (which looks like that may have been a good thing!).

Mike

Where am I with my HT build?

Still Dreaming! But I built a shed!

Nice job on the Drywall. Hopefully your basement remained dry, I'd hate to think of all that water pouring just after you finish hanging the drywall. We were really lucky (Forsyth) that while the creek behind the house went from 2' to probably 16' the neighborhood is hilly enough there were not any problems around us. Also I don't think we got nearly the amount of rain the West side of the city received.

We'll have to set up an Atlanta area meet once everyone finishes up.

Mike

Thanks,

Mike

With the location on this pond to the doors, I wonder how this kohls manages any business at all.

Basement looks good Sean! Water looks bad. Are you going to get to work on the Theater next or do you have to fix the backyard from the water damage?

yea!.. that reccessed lighting.. you mean the 34 reccessed can I put in the well.. let's see.... the home theater of course, the gameroom, the familyroom, the craft room, the hallway, the A/V closet. ..and I still have 2 left.. they came in those 6-pack boxes. THEN, I went back to get the trim kits.. YEP!..."Sir, those have been discontinued.... let me check the other stores hear in Atlanta.....tick, tock, tick, tock..... sir, I'm sorry.. none of the other location in Georgias have any AND that lighting manufacture has been aquired by another lighting company".. So, I got the number... and called on a Monday...and can you belive it... they had the ones I needed and they were half the price of the average trim kit at Lowe's. SO, I did luck out.

It really was not that bad installing the reccessed can, but did take awhile running all the wire (ROMEX 14/2).. I know it too well...

Thanks for asking, but I will say.. I really like the look of these 4" reccessed cans.

Well, i have a question...and yes, I should know this after searching through the stages/screen walls..BUT, If I build build the stage and it is not touching the walls (have it fill with sand and roofing felt under the stage..and have it about a 1/4" - 1/8" away from the walls.. won't I still have the framing that sits on top of the stage that will hide the front speakers attached to the walls and ceiling? I guess it just helps isolate it by not being attached to the walls at the stage level.

Maybe, I should have posted this in a more intelligent manner, but 16hrs at work with little sleep will work on my when I shold be getting some shut eye.

Well, applied the final coat of black paint the the ceiling of the theater. NOW all rooms have the ceilings done (family room, play room, craft room, game room, closets, hallway - from main floor to basement, A/V closet, and theater room ceilding are DONE!) =. Now maybe I'll quit having neck and back pains every Monday morning. Now it's one to prepping the mouldings and prime and paint em.... gonna spray those...

Took the morning off and headed to the Atlanta Brave youth training camp with little man.......THEN got to work that evening.

Painted the trim kits for the 3" recessed lights in the theater in flat black and slid them all into place. It least it's starting to look like a theater.... still a long way to go.

O.K... so might not be that big-o-deal.....BUT, as I was heading to work, I past the local CLOSED Hollywood Video and noticed they were gutting the building..so I whipped into the parking lot and walked in and saw they had one of these hanging on the wall and the two others were out in the parking lot... I asked this guy that looked like her was in charge if I could have them... and he told me to get them before they throw them out since he stated he had no use for them. So, like any decent HT junkie...yep, I said.. "I'll take em'"... and they were mine. Not bad for F-R-E-E.

That's the end of the updates! No more progress is allowed! So how's the image? What have you been watching?

Thanks,

Yep. The local hollywoods were closing round here and I picked up four of the metal video game racks for $300. 4' wide by 7' tall and 8 shelves each. Gonna use them in equipment room for the movie storage.

You definitely hit a hood one with free! Nice.

I have not made ANY progress down in the man cave.... I'll probably do something to feel a bit productive ...just been wiped out from working....

...and YES, I know that post made absolutely NO sense.

...hey Ronnie, not a bad buy at all.... I'm eyeing the other closed Hollywood Video stores..

Well, I quickly, yes, quickly rough mounted my projector to quick to see the thing work. Yes, it did.. but am not happy with the size of the picture. I'll have to check the manual and makse some adjustments anyway. Also, need to figure out how to adjust the image, because its wider at the bottm than it is at the top on the picture.

Going to fill all the nial holse in the trim in the basement now...

From your description of the shape of the image it sounds like the PJ needs to be rehung, or at least adjusted. It sounds like it is not level. Have cane.mba/Mike come over and mess it up for you!

I'm finally getting motivated to begin....again... working on the home theater AND the rest of the basement... in the process of taping all the windows and doors so I can spray the trim (prime and trim paint).
