Holy Crap Drew! Maybe it is all of that stuff that is giving you the abdominal pain!

I do hate to admit, even as a House fan myself, Logan is right. He does just about kill his patients first before he fixes them. Just a thought.

Why does everybody hate to admit when I'm right? RT, my boss, my wife.....

I don't get no respect. Just for that, I'm going back to my own thread.

PS3 or Xbox 360???

That is the question.

I know I shouldn't as I will only waste countless hours but I am not really up to doing much else but working, sleeping (as the prednisone allows) and sitting on my rear.

I'm not sure if I want it in the theater or in the game room but wondering which I should consider.

I like racing games, and going in and shooting things. Does one have better wireless controllers for use in the theater? Any other considerations?

Thoughts?

Ok now the question is:

X-box 360 4 gig

or

x-box 360 250 gig

is it worth the extra $100 and what does it give you (other than the obvious).

What additional functionally etc.

Man, that took longer than I thought it would...

Yes, I have the 20Gig model. If you are going to play games and not download trailers, game add-on packs, extra maps, demos, then you can go with the tiny one. BUT, since the price difference is so small, get the 250GB model now. It's cheaper than adding on later.

I second the thought of going with the bigger hard drive. If you have it and don't use it, no big loss really. If you go with the smaller hard drive and then need more memory then it will cost you more money in the long run. The 250g is a no brainer if you ask me (and you did, well you asked all of us, but I digress) and won't limit you if you decide to download a bunch of content.

Thanks for the feedback.

Should have known the response I would get. When is the last time you heard advise in here to save a few bucks and go smaller? That just isn't the AVS way. You get what you pay for, bigger is better, plan for the future.. etc. Of course that all makes sense.

Some day, I am going start a business where the less you pay, the more you get. I won't be in business for long but I will be different.

I vote bigger.

I got the 40GB PS3 and came close to running out of space recently. I upgraded to a 320GB disk.

The XBOX has fewer (cheap) HD upgrade options than the PS3...

+1 on bigger, I likewise just upgraded to 320GB.

You never said RPH why you went for Xbox vs. PS3, just curious?

Not absolutely positive yet but I don't need the b-ray player as I already have one. The Kinect looks pretty cool and my wife and daugher like the dance games on Wii. In no hurry. As far as I know I might not be able to find one in stock now that I waited until after Thanksgiving.

Just dropped $500 on accessories for my truck (tonto cover and bug deflector) and now my furnace is in some need of attention. Let the Credit cards wars begin.

Very solid indeed. 11 out of 12 possible points on a 6 game home stand. We will see if they can keep it up on the road. Great win in Calgary the other night by getting the tie with 3.2 seconds left and winning in OT. Great Game.

Speaking of hockey... When I was out buying decorations for Halloween, I found a cheap rotating red emergeny light. I have had the idea to get two better quality ones and put them on each front speaker with some type of remote switch.

Now this is not exactly high on the priority list but I want some type of button I can punch when we score a goal!!!

A little silly but kinda cool too.

I love the goal light idea! If you could record an announcer screaming "Goal" or "He Scores" that would be great too.

Very neat.

Not sure if you have decided yet or not but like everyone else I strongly encourage the 250g 360. I purchased the new xbox slim 250g when it first came out and the amount of hard drive space is incredible. If you do a decent amount of gaming then it is STRONGLY encouraged (take it from me here) to download any game that you plan on playing on a regular basis. The reason you do this (I apologize if you already know) is so that the only time the disc spins in the unit is when it is loading then it stops which extends the life of your system and your game disc. I recently had a game that my son plays A LOT that cracked from the inside out causing it to completely fail because it was not downloaded to the HD and constantly spun for the several hours at a time that he played. So long story short I now download ALL games that we play a significant amount so for that alone the 250gig HD is a MUST. On our other unit (the original 360 with 20gig hd) I have 2 games downloaded and am out of room if that example helps.

PS I love the red light idea that is sweet

Thanks. I didn't know that and is really just the information I was looking for. More seems always to be better but this is a fuctional difference which further supports the large drive.

Love the goal light. It is one of those look what I have gadget for when people come over as you surely arent turning it on for every goal when you are sitting and viewing alone...or so I hope.

I have been looking at these.

If I could find it and the brightness wouldn't blind my audience (or me), I think the light off the top of a state police car would be sweet.

Not every goal but I do get into the games. Usually I just yell a little and beat my chest. Did I mention I get into the games?

I have to figure out how to make a switch that is padded, about 5 or 6 inches in diameter and fits in one of my cupholders. That way I can just punch the button after a goal.

I like it - punch the arm rest and the lights go on. Just make sure you don't mess up which arm rest has the button and which one has the beer...

Maybe, would be a lot less bright, you could use a usb charger to power and then use a switch.

Well, well, well... Look what the cat dragged in...

79 days after the last post...

Progress???

Well I have been stairing at the electrical switch the the bottom of my steps for months. Silly me didn't take a picture but for those of you with a good memory, there used to be a door at the bottom of my step into my theater. That long since been "removed" but the 3-way switch at the bottom of my steps that controlled one zone of my theater lights has been hanging out of the box for months.

I didn't really need this switch so I finally got around to getting rid of the switch. Now the double box is still there (the other for the stair lights) but by terminating one of the hot wires the other three way switch (in the theater) now acts like a single switch. I couldn't find a double box cover where one was a switch and one was a blank (I know you can find them on line) so I left an unwired switch in the spot so it doesn't look funny.

I would post a pic of the finished product but it looks like any other dual switch plate now.

I haven't been in here in a while so I guess I have some reading to do...

Man, that took longer than I thought it would...

Well, well, well... Back again.

Does swapping out a new projector bulb count as progress? 2400 ish hours and this bulb was pretty much toast. That and I wanted to see the Wings kick some shark butt tonight. Which they just did!!!

Where have I been??? Different forum... P90X... Day 49.

Now I started eating better 4 or 5 months ago and dropped about 10 lbs before starting but now I am down another 10. Yes ladies and germs 10+10= 20 lbs of squishy that I am no longer carrying around. Wish I had done that before finishing the basement. Would have make the work a little easier.

Where else have I been.... Didn't you just read 2400 hours???

Not much else has changed. The basement bedroom is now my workout room with an old school 27" TV for the DVDs. Also the treadmill has found it's way out to the game room. I have never run any type of race before but now have a 5.2 mile run scheduled around a lake July 4th.

Couldn't be much happier with the theater and that is a good thing as other stuff in this realitively new home (7 years) is strarting to eat into the fun money. (New washer and dryer, Air conditioner just took a dump, etc)

Went through and read the last page on most of the active theads. Will need to dig deeper as time allows. Hopefully the Wings will be playing for a few more weeks but after that, I should be back on board.

P.S. How's Logan's theater doing... wait... Nevermind...
